Re: Poll: Oral iron and ferritin levels

Thanks, brain iron is a difficult concept. Reducing inflammation is important for so many things.

Re: Aussie looking for good specialists in Australia

Good luck. There aren't any in New Zealand but GPs listen and have a lot of leeway on prescribing.

Re: RLS in Public

Excuse me, I have RLS and have the need to stand up and stretch.

I've said almost the exact same thing. People are usually sympathetic or know someone else with it. It's better to stand up than continue to writhe.

Re: B 12 levels

My ropinerole tablets are pentgon shaped and easy to cut, close to in half.

Beth, try the B12 again but wait at least a month before you decide if it is helping or not.

Re: B 12 levels

It's been about three months since I started taking vitamin B12 and I'm pretty sure it's helping as it is the only change to my daily regimen which is .25mg ropinerole divided into two and taken approximately two hours and 1.5 hours before bed, 60mg codeine an hour before bed, an iron tablet with vi...

Biogel works for me (usually), I haven't heard of Theragesic but your routine sounds familiar.

Re: New Member

It's best to feel the symptoms at times, even daily, as long as they don't interfere with sleep. People tend to find that complete control of symptoms leads rapidly to a worsening of the condition and need for a dose increase, whereas stopping short of complete control is a situation that can be ma...

Re: Take Lavander Massage Oil to Your Masseuse

There's an interesting podcast called Science Vs. An episode from September 21 2018 called "Essential Oils: Science or Snake Oil" researches studies on essential oils and basically says that even though they might work (a little) on mice, they don't work on humans. Listen to it and form yo...

Re: Yoga Helping me so far

Sometimes if my calves are really killing me in the night I will do a downward dog for 10 breaths and then a hover for 10 breaths. (They kill me several times every night but sometimes I'm too lazy for this.) That helps but I still need to stay up for about an hour.

Re: Symptoms worse by season

By all means, visit New Zealand! January is a great time, February is even better because school holidays are over so it isn't quite so crowded. I've lived here for 33 years and haven't noticed any difference while travelling between the hemispheres. I seem to sleep better in winter although I'm not...

Re: Craniosacral therapy

I agree, if it helped, go for it but in my opinion cranial sacral therapy is complete quackery. My husband had two or three sessions and the therapist did things like run her hands slowly from head to toe about four inches above his body saying things like "I can sense that your liver is hot&qu...

Re: What Calms You in the Night?

Many years ago when a tooth flared up on a Sunday night and I needed an emergency root canal filling I stayed up almost all night ironing and cleaning. The pain was still there but working frantically took my mind off of it. Luckily my dentist took me first thing on Monday.

Re: Weight Loss

Ann, congratulations on your continued weight loss. Our brains think we are starving our bodies when we try to lose weight so it's hard. For inspiration I recommend "Sugar Free Farm", a BBC reality show where overweight celebrities go for a week or two to work on a farm and have a sugar-re...

 Re the B12 spray: as far as I could get an answer, 1200 mcg is the sum of the four sprays.

RLS, so many variables cause and effect it.

Re: Vick's!!! <3 <3 <3

I'd vote for the codeine. In the vein of menthol crystals, I've been using a menthol gel which helps. The brand I use is Biofreeze Cold Therapy Pain Relief Gel but there are others.
