… and write to the Practice as opposed to directly to Dr D.

Yes, even to the district health board. She needs to be recognised and it needs to go into her records.

Re: Relief of my RLS with Voltaren gel

Last night I rubbed some Votaren gel on the backs of my calves just before bed. Two hours later, like clockwork, I woke up. My left leg hurt so I put some more on. It did take away the RLS pain but after going back to bed I woke up again a few hours later with my other leg hurting. I won't use it ag...

Re: Whacha readin?

I've recently read two books by Lisa See. She is a Californian of Chinese descent and her books are stories of Chinese who made the often painful journey to the US and Chinese Americans, a mix of modern and very old school. China Dolls takes place mostly in San Francisco before and after WWII and Sh...

Re: Relief of my RLS with Voltaren gel

I might try the Votaren gel tonight. Now that my ferratin levels are higher I don't have many symptoms except every time I wake up (3–4 times a night) my legs hurt and I have to stay up for about an hour.

Re: A doctor knew about Ferritin !!

I think younger doctors are more up with the play on RLS than the older ones, I'd definitely ask for Dr D from now on. Not regarding RLS, but this year I started on January 1 with influenza, saw a GP who was fairly useless at the weekend clinic on January 7, still feeling very unwell (I'm very fit a...

Re: Changing my diet may have solved my RLS

… oral Iron supplements. My PC says to take iron every other day for maximum absorption.

My GP also suggested taking iron every second day. After two weeks of torture I went back to every day. It was worth a try but didn't work for me. Iron tablets have really helped me though.

Re: RLS and Increasing Circulation in Legs

I had some very long ones left over from surgery so wore them for an overseas flight. While sitting in my seat I had to get them off before the plane even took off. For me they were terrible. During recovering from surgery I had an inflatable contraption around each leg which expanded and contracted...

Re: Let's Talk Table Tennis

I grew up in a house with a table in a long narrow sun porch. Needless to say, we had a lot of unique rules. There was a fairly low light with a big glass shade above the middle. Hitting it was called “ringing the doorbell”. Cousins and small children loved playing our version of table tennis.

Re: CELL PHONES - ENGINEER - WARRANTY !!

Congratulations, what a great resolution. Last year on a flight from Milan to Miami, that I'd paid a fair amount for more leg room, the aircraft was changed. The flight attendant asked would it be okay if I had a row of four seats to myself! Even though I can't sleep much on planes it was wonderful ...

Re: Just joined

Don't you hate it when age of a healthy person is thrown out as cause? I've had recurring chest infections this year (never before) and the radiologist on his report said something about how it could take a while to resolve in someone of this age (68)!. I'm not old and haven't had any disease except...

Re: What Calms You in the Night?

This might sound off the wall but I put together jigsaw puzzles. The concentration and moving around (I usually stand) calm my legs and brain in about 15 minutes but I read and stretch for another half hour and finish off by sitting in the dark quietly until I feel I can go back to sleep. If I try t...

Re: Prescription Refills

Yeah, those hot flash cures never worked for the user. I was lucky to be in the era before hormones were thought to be so bad. I couldn't have got through those years without them. And $32.90 is about my limit for potential quackery.
