Re: What Severe RLS is Like

That's absolutely fabulous, almost a miracle, best wishes. Your drugs must have really been fighting each other.

Re: RLS symptoms and Opioid withdrawal

Kiwis call dinner (evening meal) tea. When I first moved here a notoriously cheap couple invited me to tea. (Their reputation preceded them.) I wondered if they meant a meal or just a hot drink and cookie (biscuit) or piece of cake. I was wrong on both choices, they offered a hot drink, not even a c...

Re: Power Plate

I totally agree about information presented only in videos when it would be so much faster to read. I think just making videos is a lazy way to present information, it's more work to think and write it out clearly.

Re: RLS symptoms and Opioid withdrawal

Nothing to do with RLS but one Irish family thinks oats are the key to their longevity. The thirteen siblings have an average age of 82.6 and eat oatmeal porridge twice a day. Note to Americans: supper for the British and Irish means a small snack a few hours after dinner. This family didn't have to...

Re: RLS symptoms and Opioid withdrawal

The main reason I wsnted to get off lortab is that is causes constipation. Tramadol ER also causes constipation and keeping it under control is a battle for me. I drink about two liters of fluid (with one liter of water) most days, eat two kiwifruit (one before breakfast), add a teaspoon of psylliu...

Re: Power Plate

Beth, I agree. Any website that is not up front immediately with what they are selling raises a red flag with me. Power Plate might help with RLS but it reminds me of years ago when Cliff and I had our business we were in a four office building with limited parking down the side. There was a magic w...

Re: A Pharmacy Love Story [Not!]

That's a really horrible (but not all that atypical) story. I'm glad you finally got it sorted out. Here is a website for comparing prescription prices: www.goodrx.com
It's no good in New Zealand but has helped my sister in the US.
Here's a long distance virtual hug for you!

Re: Finally somebody that understands RLS!!

Hi Dixielee, When my legs get really bad I put an ice pack on the offending leg—they take turns. I also read my iPad on the night setting in the dark and do downward dogs to stretch my calves which are the main place that has symptoms. Codeine is great in the movies or other confined situations. Abo...

Re: Looking for natural treatments

I am a natural skeptic but I wouldn't go near functional medicine. Look it up on line in scienc -based websites. FM stresses individuality but humans are more alike than different. I much prefer science-based medicine based on clinical trials, not lots and lots of lab tests which come up with incred...

Re: New here looking for guidance.

devn67, sinemet is no longer prescribed for long term use, rather for quick relief in individual situations. Since Tramadol is working for you, try to find a doc who will keep you on it. I use 100mg slow release Tramadol and .25mg ropinerole. It isn't perfect but along with accepting up time in the ...

Re: Worried about taking medication for RLS

I agree, I take a low dose of ropinerole, 100mg of SR tramadol and codeine for movies, concerts and long rides. I combine the drugs with stretching and reading several times in the night but for me that's preferable to augmentation, which I've had but cut back on the medication in time.

Re: Looking for natural treatments

Doesn't having RLS seem like Groundhog Day every night? Every bed time I hope for a better night and sure enough, almost like clockwork, I wake up and have to go through the same series of activities just to be able to get back to sleep. And I know I'm lucky that I can.
