Re: Weaning off RLS meds
Seth....I recommend that you Wean-Off any type of dopamine agonist "VERY SLOWLY"... Stopping any of these dopamine agonist medications too rapidly can produce some long term, nasty withdrawal symptoms referred to as "DAWS" dopamine agonist withdrawal syndrome...just read through my post under ...

Re: Reversing Restless Leg Syndrome
Well the 22nd of this month marked (1) year since I stopped taking all dopamine agonist medications..Its remarkable how much better I feel today and the misery I was going through 12-months ago. The DAWS symptoms which usually last approx. 14-16 months (according to my neurologist and all the ...

Re: Nodding on Codeine
Thanks, for the vast insight on the connection of major CNS depressants and different ways movie stars have committed suicide, hopefully this will stop or help others others from falling victim to said medications. I'm not exactly sure of the numbers but there are lots of people whom have fallen ...

Re: Melatonin added to the mix
It's really weird how things affect everybody differently when it comes to RLS....Melatonin seemed to make my RLS symptoms worse, definitely didn't help with the RLS or PLMD...but hey, what makes me better might make you worse...I've had nothing but positive experiences with THC Gummies...really ...

Re: Reversing Restless Leg Syndrome
Thanks for the update Michael. Hopefully, your experience has been educational for those facing dopamine agonist withdrawal as warning not to do it too quickly if you are coming down from a high level and to do so under the guidance of a doctor who understands augmentation and proper DA ...

Re: Belbuca Patch
A few years ago I was taking buprenorphine for lower back problems after failure of (2) spinal stimulators.. I was prescribed the "Belbuca Patch" that dissolves between the cheek and gum, work great for about 2-years, didn't have to take any type of dopamine agonist during this period for RLS ...

Re: changing extremities
Well here's the real question(s): Did the dopamine agonist drugs change the structure of our brain causing our RLS symptoms to become worse over time? OR Has the RLS symptoms progressed to higher intensity levels with time (Worsened With Years)? If the dopamine agonist drugs has altered our brain ...

Re: changing extremities
Well I don't know if I'd jump to the conclusion that it has probably permanently altered your brain...I was overdosed on Pramipexole for little over (1) year and stopped taking it cold turkey, restarted 4-MG Ropinirole next day, slowly stopped that over about 2-month period..the Withdrawal Symptoms ...

Re: changing extremities
I stopped taking all Dopamine Agonist over approx.10-months ago and haven't taken anything in its place since...During the beginning of those 10-months I've had all sorts of weird symptoms, including the symptoms moving around, kind-of-like cycling through different muscle groups but those symptoms ...

CASUALUSER....I'm no expert by any means just another victim of this terrible disease called Restless Leg Syndrome..Although, from all the research I've done on different types of medications in hopes of treating RLS, I've come to believe that Levodopa generally isn't used as a treatment ...

Frunobulax...surfing through some older posting on here I read where you suffered through what sounded like DAWS after stopping Pramepexole...Its been approximately 1-year since I quit taking Pramepexole and I'm still suffering from DAWS. The symptoms started out very bad but have become less ...

Re: Reversing Restless Leg Syndrome

Re: Reversing Restless Leg Syndrome
I was initially prescribed Gabapentin to help with the RLS symptoms while tapering my dopamine agonist to 0.0. The Gabapentin caused extreme swelling in my feet, so I stopped the Gabapentin and started Lyrica which had the same negative effects, so I quit taking all medications April 22, 2024. I of ...
