Re: Symptoms - Burning sensation

Hot/burning feet at night in bed (always with insomnia) has actually become the norm for me instead of RLS symptoms. If it gets really bad and I don't take any meds it will go into a full-body SEVERE RLS-type sensation where I feel like I have to just thrash and stretch my ENTIRE BODY and I've got t...

Re: Medical Marijuana

OK, reporting in. It seems the CBD hemp oil vaping worked well for my insomnia and for my legs, but only if I vaped a decent amount of it. Recently though, it seems to have stopped working at all. Maybe I got tolerant to it? Or maybe it was just placebo effect the first few times? I'm not sure. In e...

Re: Medical Marijuana

Magnesium really did used to help me, especially if it was something really quickly absorbed like Natural Calm; on blood tests I was always a little on the low side... same with ferritin until I started taking supplements (those helped too, for a little while). Recently it hasn't seemed like magnesi...

Re: Medical Marijuana

Boy did I get the opportunity to put this to the test! Last night was the worst RLS I've had in a long while, by 2AM my legs were climbing up the walls. Valium didn't work, nyquil didn't work, magnesium didn't work... I finally downed four dropperfuls (equating to possibly 50 mg of CBD) of the oil w...

Re: Medical Marijuana

I just finally got the CBD oil in the mail... apparently it only contains 0.55 mg of CBD per drop and I just went back and read that the kind you have is a 0.5 g cartridge so I doubt I'm going to be able to vape this stuff. The entire bottle doesn't even have 500 mg. Probably should've read more car...

Re: RLS with NO PLMD!

sleepdancer2, I use a free App on my iPhone 4 called Sleep Time. It's sensitive enough to pick up on little movements I think and they have a way of testing it out while your awake to see if certain movements register. I usually keep it next to my pillow... maybe I should put it down next to my legs...

Re: RLS with NO PLMD!

My sleep partners from now and the past say that although I do grind my teeth they've never noticed any movements when I sleep, even during REM at which point many normal people will twitch... in fact when I'm in deep sleep I tend to be very still. This has been corroborated by motion-tracking apps ...

Re: Kratom is working for me

I haven't had daytime symptoms recently and I've been too scared to try it at night because it seems to keep me up... but yesterday I got what I'm going to call "neurological fatigue" (basically I get this weird wave of inexplicable sudden, severe fatigue that is accompanied by odd sensati...

Re: Medical Marijuana

Yeah I live in Virginia and it's illegal to get any kind of MM, even CBD oil which doesn't contain THC (so dumb). It is however legal to buy CBD oil if it is derived from hemp, so I recently purchased some and will let y'all know if it works. Apparently the problem with hemp oil is that the CBD cont...

RLS with NO PLMD!

I've never had my legs move involuntarily. Not once. But apparently 80% of RLS patients have co-occuring PLMD, to the point where someone like me doesn't even qualify for research studies on RLS! Do you think perhaps those with this type of RLS have a different disease altogether, just with the over...

Re: Kratom is working for me

Tried it... both Indo and Bali have a stimulating effect on me, pleasant but definitely not useful for getting to sleep. I had such a strong reaction with the euphoria the second time I took some (only 3/4 teaspoon!) that I'm scared to take more to see if more will have a sedating effect. Still, it'...

Re: Atypical symptoms and lots of diagnoses to untangle

Sounds very much like you have a neurological condition. Although I sometimes get the typical RLS symptoms (like last night, ugh) I also go through phases where I'll get RLS symptoms during the day, inexplicable daytime fatigue even if I've been sleeping well, and I also get the sensation in my arms...

Re: Oxycodone vs diazepam

yeah I'm pretty sure it does nothing to actually relieve the RLS symptoms, because once I woke up in the middle of the night, still quite "doped up" with the Valium, and could still feel the sensation in my legs. It's a good point about the alternating... currently I had to fight with a ps...

Re: Who on here has both RLS/WED and PLMD?

I think am one of the 20% who doesn't have PLMD (I haven't gotten this checked officially, but based on my experience and other people observing my sleep behavior, I'm actually quite motionless when asleep).

Re: atypical RLS perhaps? Getting worse, off and on...

Yeah, it feels like what you've called a "pre-RLS" or that 30-second warning sensation, except it lasts all day, oh-so gradually turning into true RLS. It's weird that mine would come on so gradually. I actually never even realized other people had the symptoms just drop on them all-of-a-s...
