Re: Where to go from here

I too have severe debilitating RLS below the knees. I had tried everything (and I really mean everything), couldn't take the drugs, and also like you, had no where else to go. I lived in your situation. The CP Relief Wand (you can Google) worked for me and it has worked for me 100% every night for a...

Re: Where to go from here

Sleepnot,
Is your RLS in only your legs and primarily the lower legs?

Re: TENS stimulation for WED/RLS: Effective parameters

Hi Badnights, The data that I referred to was distributor data and is not intended or ever accessible for the public. I only happened to know someone and they showed me some non confidential information. However, I understand that a scientific pilot study on RLS with the CP Relief Wand should be pub...

Re: TENS stimulation for WED/RLS: Effective parameters

Yes I do, Badnights. I have severe RLS/WED below the knees. My left leg is much worse than my right leg.

Re: TENS stimulation for WED/RLS: Effective parameters

ViewsAskew, Without doubt, I have been down that road myself. All the ads for products that don’t work...Grrr. Even the best scientific studies leave plenty of room for doubt for the individual patient. Nothing works for everyone. RLS remains a hideous disease. As it progresses over the years, it su...

Re: TENS stimulation for WED/RLS: Effective parameters

"the demonstration from this distributor is free. So no one has anything to lose and everything to gain." ummm ... they're a distributor of the product. They will gain a sale by convincing the patient it works, so the patient consequently will lose the cost of the product if he's erroneou...

Re: TENS stimulation for WED/RLS: Effective parameters

Hi Badnights, Re: Double Blind Studies I agree with everything you said. Thanks for clarifying any misunderstanding. The misunderstanding was that I spoke of "Statistics" from a DME Distributor. DME distributors are licensed in almost all states. All are monitored closely by Medicare and i...

Re: TENS stimulation for WED/RLS: Effective parameters

How did you access this unpublished statistical information? Are you affiliated with CP Wand manufacturers in some way? It would be nice if these results were published so others can learn from and build on them. The main reason people choose not to publish in my experience is when their results do...

Re: TENS stimulation for WED/RLS: Effective parameters

Aipulu, Happened to notice your post regarding you pain relief problems with a TENS unit. As I had mentioned with RLS, TENS devices transmit a current through the electodes, into and through the body to the other electrode. The path of this current is the most critical element but is mostly unknown....

Re: TENS stimulation for WED/RLS: Effective parameters

Electric current is very effective for reliably desensitizing the nerves associated with RLS. I and many other RLS patients are proof of this. However, the real difficulty is getting the electric current to go where it need to go. This is the challenge and the reason why TENS is very often a hit a m...

Re: trying a radically different approach

ViewsAskew,

A friend mentioned to me that a better term for me to use instead of "RLS Trigger Points" would be "Abnormal Sensation Regions".

Re: trying a radically different approach

Hi ViewsAskew, You are certainly correct, My description of trigger points is my own terminology since I don't know what else to call them. I have not read the book by Davies but a friend had read this book and suggested that they were trigger points of a different kind. I agree with you that there ...

Re: trying a radically different approach

Hi timo, Trigger points are the best description I know. I too have RLS from the knee down. I also have a pacemaker which is not effected from this treatment, even during an ECG. The muscles run up and down the leg. The nerve trigger points lay deep within the muscle. A particular muscle may have se...
