Re: Clonazepam for Sleep

I have posted too many times about my trials and tribulations coming off clonazepam but it worked very well for 20 years. 0.5 mg every night worked for well over 10 years and I slowly got up to 2 and finally 2 - 3 the last year. My doctor at the time said 3 mg. was the highest dose he would prescrib...

Re: 4 mg. Ropinerole Extended Release

I finally filled the script for 4 mg. ER. Best I have felt in 9 month. Just a slight touch of RLS in early evening so far. I slept well, if a little choppy last 2 nights. I surfed some fun waves last two mornings and felt great. I hope this lasts a while. Most significantly the physical pain in my t...

Re: 4 mg. Ropinerole Extended Release

Has anyone out there had success with extended relief DAs? I'm up to 2 mg. regular ropinirole but 4 mg. seems to invite augmentation regardless of how it is administered. I may be augmenting now based on when symptoms start but that changes day to day. Last night RLS kicked in early so I took a mg. ...

Re: 4 mg. Ropinerole Extended Release

Back from my first visit ever to a Neurologist. I was underwhelmed even with low expectations. Half way through I was sure I was going back to Clonazepam. Both my GP and this doctor agree the path I’m on with RLS and DAs causing bigger risk of Alzheimer’s than the Benzo. I just hope the Clonazepam w...

Re: mattress

I saw an article on another RLS site when I was first looking into blogs six months ago. Someone stated they slept on a sleep number bed, experienced RLS going away after sleeping on a relatives sleep number bed, only to discover their usual bed was under inflated. I only remember this because the b...

Re: 4 mg. Ropinerole Extended Release

I agree, 2 mg. of ropinirole extended release would probably be the ticket for me but more than I hope to pay for a maintenance drug. I was having such a hard time communicating with my doctor when she ordered the 4 mg. the dose got past me. My doctor looked at me like I had a third eye when I talke...

Re: 4 mg. Ropinerole Extended Release

Thanks for the replies. I should have done a search for splitting pills, it is amazing what you can find. I'm very conflicted about taking such a high dose of ropinirole besides the cost. From what I have read it would practically guarantee augmentation. Does anyone disagree? I am about ready to go ...

4 mg. Ropinerole Extended Release

So I see the doctor yesterday, tell her I get about 22 hours of relief from 1 mg., an hour or two RLS dancing before I go to bed and a little breakthrough during the day. I am concerned about augmentation and would like to explore alternatives before I augment. She tells me if I get a couple of year...

Is physical pain in legs common

Since I quit klonopin 4 months ago I have had psychical pain in my thighs almost every day. It is like I jogged many miles further than normal. In fact I have jogged very little over lately. I would describe it as a sharp pain at bone level in the middle front of the thigh. I mean physical pain as o...

Re: Going to try alternating... Opinions wanted

I too hope to try alternating before I augment. I have been on 1 mg. ropinirole for about six weeks and just started 400 mg. gabapentin a week ago. I hope after seeing my doctor in a few weeks I can slowly increase the gabapentin to a level it can take over, if not completely as a break. I'm running...

Re: Ropinerole availability

Sorry about the hassle getting your prescription. The pharmacists used to make me feel like I was doing something wrong when I picked up a clonazepam script for 20 years. Apparently benzos are trouble but worked well for me and I don't know how you could abuse it since it just put me to sleep. When ...

Re: Switching from pramipexole to an opiate - What to expect

Stjohnh, you said you took 8 grams of Kratom a day. How did you take that much? Was it in powder form? I got some red vein Borneo but have a hard time getting 2 grams down. 8 grams would be overwhelming.

Re: Kratom Advise

I baked a teaspoon in each big brownie and ate one each evening before my RLS kicked in. I could feel it like a mild buzz but not enough to take much of an edge off my RLS. I continued to take 1 mg. ropinerole which gives me about 22 hours of relief. I finished off half of the brownies, quit and don...

Scalding hot water is one of the few things that helps every time with me. Not a cure but relief.
