Re: Buprenorphine, the good, bad and ugly

Deb, or anyone, how long have you been on buprenorphine? Can anyone with dental issues chime in. I had throat cancer last year and got a lifetime dose of radiation especially in the lower jaw. My radiologist and UF School of Dentistry warn of very serious consequences from dental problems. Even an e...

Re: Buprenorphine, the good, bad and ugly

That's good information deb. I have to make the decision in a few days, at least for this 90 day cycle. Staying on Pregablin and starting the process of getting off Clonazepam replaced by Buprenorphine sounds like a plan based on what you are doing.

Anyone else out there with feedback. Rick

Re: Vacation Reprieve

Rust, I know how you feel. I climbed stairs in my PJs at 4 am. Usually 8 floors up and down twice would do it. I dreaded the flight home but in business class it was not so bad. I binged movies (Oppenheimer was 3 hours) and caught a cat nap here and there. 17 hours in 2 planes with a long layover wa...

Buprenorphine, the good, bad and ugly

One of my many doctors told me Buprenorphine is now Schedule III in my state, meaning it can be prescribed for RLS. Not sure if my Neurologist will but this doctor will. I've read recent posts on the subject but would like to consolidate opinions on whether it worked, continues to work, side effects...

Re: Vacation Reprieve

Six weeks on a South Pacific cruise turns out to be a lot of time at sea. There was a lot to do onboard and I got my Vacation Reprieve for a while. I had almost no daytime RLS the whole cruise but nights evolved into pain I experience at home. Long plane ride back to LA was rough followed by another...

My experience with Medical Marijuana

I finally got around to getting a Medical Marijuana Card in Florida. A strange procedure where you pat $275, see an MD and they approve your MM Card but don't give you a prescription. The card has to be renewed every seven months for another $150. The doctor who was young, articulate and seemed genu...

Handheld Percussion Massage Gun

For the last few years I've been watching the National Football League using Handheld Percussion Massage Guns on the sidelines mostly on players thighs. I figure this is mostly to keep them from cramping up. I'm no athlete but kept thinking this may provide some relief for RLS so I finally ordered o...

Re: Clonazepam Tolerance Build-Up

To tell you the truth I don't feel Pregabalin do anything. It was supposed to reduce the pain in the thighs and it may but it is subtle. I've tried cutting back and I can notice it interfere with my sleep. Since my issues are so bad and I don't have any real alternatives I keep taking it. I was goin...

Re: Clonazepam Tolerance Build-Up

I wanted to add that I think lack of or sleep interruption is probably a large factor in dementia. I was told recently hearing loss (I have bad tinnitus) contributes. If these as well as clonazepam and pregabalin do I'm in real trouble.

Re: RLS constantly changing

Thx for the replies. I have had RLS move to my arms on occasion but never stays around. It's a terrible feeling. I used to think it was all in my calfs but what I have today is definitely all in my thighs. I rack my brain trying to figure out cause and effect but never do. The disease seems to chang...

Re: Clonazepam Tolerance Build-Up

I have been on Clonazepam for over 25 years for lifetime RLS and PLMS. Started at 0.5mg now at 2 mg and neurologist added 300 mg Pregabalin 5 years ago. 10 years ago, over 6 months, I got off Clonazepam for a year and took ever increasing doses of Ropinirole for a year. I think I augmented immediate...

RLS constantly changing

I've had significant RLS my whole life. Started as movement of my legs I was not even aware of until my brothers told me decades later. Then in my mid teens it became an annoying urge to move my legs when I was watching TV or similar activities. I believe I had PLMS even then but nobody in my room t...

Re: REST AND RECHARGE SUPPLEMENT FOR RLS

My wife put a bar of Ivory Soap under my pillow LOL. For those who don't remember it was an early cure for RLS. Bless her heart.

Re: Vacation Reprieve

I thought I would update this topic one more time and let it rest. We just did a 4500 mile road trip from Florida around to see the relatives in the Mid West and my legs really behaved themselves. Two or three nights at each relative, only three nights in a hotel and a nice bed every night. I think ...
