Sequential Compression Device: how long?

I have been using a compression device on my calves for an hour before bed for a week now. No change. If this works, does it usually work right away? (PLMD is principal complaint, but I do have RLS. Hasn't helped either so far.)

Gabapentin--Lyrica?

Anyone who couldn't tolerate gabapentin (caused depression) do well on Lyrica?

Re: research on use of TENS for PLMs and query

Thanks, XenMan, for all the info. As you point out, we are all different; i.e., my whole leg(s) shake usually.

Re: research on use of TENS for PLMs and query

I am confused. What does "press for 5 to 10 seconds" and "it should really hurt". I haven't actually received my TENS yet but it has four pads to apply and then turn up the electrical stimulation?

Once you found your "spots", did it work right away?

Re: research on use of TENS for PLMs and query

Thanks so much for that post. Very helpful. I was not actually looking for a formula that works for all, more a bunch of experience so I get a sense of what this therapy can look like. That is an interesting idea about foam rolling. I don't have this thing you describe as "tension". Or I d...

research on use of TENS for PLMs and query

Can anyone with successful (or unsuccessful for that matter) experience with TENS placement share their experience? Thanks. (Particularly interested in those whose principal complaint is PLMs.)

Alertness--RLS vs. pain dosages?

This is probably a no-brainer, but if codeine causes alertness at dosages for RLS, it will likely cause alertness for pain level dosages?

Re: Medical Marijuana

One more thing: to repeat myself. I have had to address two problems: insomnia (not getting sleepy enough) AND PLMD/RLS. For me, progesterone makes me sleepy. I actually think I still have some leg movements during sleep but I sleep through them. I was using THC for sleepiness and it helped but was ...

Re: Medical Marijuana

THCA is a miracle (almost always) for me. It's not that changeable--you need to keep it out of the sun, refrigerate if you can and be careful not to heat it up in a warm car, etc. Yes, I tried (expensive) CBN. Did nothing for me. But then, as we all know, everyone is different. I use THCA full spect...

Re: Medical Marijuana

I am guessing one thing is universal: whatever you get the card for doesn't impact what happens when you go to buy the marijuana. In other words, if you get the card for insomnia, it won't matter that you are wanting it to help another condition. The card doesn't say "only good for insomnia&quo...

Re: Medical Marijuana

It is only a bit over two weeks but I have had a significant improvement of my sleep starting on progesterone (100 mg at night before bed). It makes me tired within an hour, so much so I have given up the marijuana (THC 1:1) that I was using to get to sleep. I still have been taking 3 droppers of TH...
