Re: Lyrica 300+

Yes, I get iron infusions several times a year; my ferretin is kept way above 100. Never seemed to help much although it seems worse without it, if that makes sense.

Re: Lyrica 300+

Question which I should send to the whole list: is it the case that you can avoid augmentation if you stay on a dose that works until it doesn't and then, rather than increasing if it fails to work, just get off of it?

Re: Lyrica 300+

I haven't tried the dopaminergic drugs for fear of augmentation. I have tried a lot of the opioids. Most made me nervous or depressed (methadone). There are a few I haven't tried and others I didn't give a fare try, but overall the experimentation was one of the worst periods of my life. Thinking of...

Lyrica 300+

I have had success with Lyrica for my PLMD for the last six months, although, of course, I have had to put up with daytime sedation. AND it has been necessary to increase the dose around every 5 days by 25 mg. in order to have my sleep maintained (I also suffer from sleep onset and maintenance issue...

Re: Trazadone, Doxepin?

I've done a lot of cannabis for insomnia. Definitely works but causes daytime sedation for me unfortunately.

Trazadone, Doxepin?

Primary doctor is recommending Trazadone or Doxepin on top of the Lyrica I am taking for PLMD. Lyrica 200 mg. working well on legs (has been working well even at much lower dosages) but not on onset and maintenance insomnia, plus the Lyrica causes daytime sedation so I am hoping I might successfully...

Gabapentin--Lyrica--Horizant?

Anyone heard of anyone who got depressed on both gabapentin and lyrica, NOT get depressed on Horizant? (I know we are all different.)

Re: Lyrica -- glutamate -- Gabapentin

Thanks for looking into this. From how I read the first quote, does it assume or imply that Gabapentin "decreases" glutamate? It doesn't sound very declarative; more like it "should be expected to." It certainly is possible I am not understanding what I am reading. "Mean glutamate concentrations did...

Re: Lyrica side effects

Thanks. I confess after years of failure and being borderline suicidal from the sleep deprivation/crazy nights I have a hard time not being very invested in success/failure of Lyrica which I have not experienced on any other of the dozens of therapies attempted in a decade plus. I wrote about this p...

Lyrica -- glutamate -- Gabapentin

I was given Gabapentin more than one time and kept increasing the dose to a point where I got depresssed before it was stopping my leg movements (PLMs). I was told by Dr. B that I would get depressed on Lyrica so he recommended not to bother trying it. I tried it and at the lowest dose, from the fir...

Re: Lyrica side effects

Thanks. Had to go back up to 175 because of PLMs mid-night. Pattern is I will stay at 175 tonight and it won't work well and I will be up to 200. Then 3 good nights on 200, and repeat. Fear this will happen until I can't go up or some side effect will make Lyrica impossible to take altogether. A few...

Lyrica side effects

I have had a wonderful experience with Lyrica (longer story in other posts) but this weird thing is happening and I am wondering if others have any input about it. I have had to increase it, usually after around 5 days at each dose to continue to control the shaky legs. Then at the increased dose, t...

Re: Lyrica questions

Update: Went up to 150mg nightly (only) on the Lyrica. I have been taking it for over a month, maybe two months now. As I said in earlier post, the experiment of going off of it for two days every week was not good for me so I had been increasing the dose every 4-5 days and was worried about side ef...

Re: Lyrica questions

Problem now isn't depression (yet) but the dosage needs to be increased every 4 days to continue to be effective. It worries me, of course, because I think I'll either get depressed on the higher dosages or I'll get to the maximum safe dose and then it will only work for 4 days. I worry because it w...
