Re: Relaxis

Relaxis is working for kcrowley's 8yr old daughter (search for that author in the Advanced Search, hit the little wheel icon to the right of the Search - top right of this page). But it is working for WED/RLS. No one has posted about it being successful for PLMs, that I've seen, and the research wa...

It is definitely worth trying! It helps me a lot.

Re: Latest on TENS Unit Use for Nighttime Symptoms

I too have been experimenting with using a TENS unit for my restless leg syndrome. Usually, it really works well. Sometimes though, it doesn't seem to have a positive effect. But I am very encouraged by the results I have had overall. I would definitely recommend that others try it.

Re: New and going nuts

If you are now considering medication for your RLS because the Abilify was indeed masking your RLS symptoms, I would encourage you to look at the alpha-2-delta ligands (gabapentin, Lyrica, Horizant) first. If for some reason these don't do the trick, then try the dopamine agonists (Mirapex, Requip)...

Re: New on here

Some of us seem to be very sensitive to the dopaminergic drugs, such as ropinerole. Initially, I could only take 1/4 of what my doctor prescribed without pretty awful side effects. You may be able to take it, just in a much smaller dose. I used pramipexole and broke a tablet into 1/4s. Not sure how...

New on here

I'm new, and here is some of my background: I'm a 63 y.o. man. I started having RLS symptoms about 6 or 7 years ago, along with peripheral neuropathy. I am taking Gabapentin 1200 milligrams per day, but that is doing nothing for my RLS symptoms (and not too much for the neuropathy, either). The RLS ...
