It is definitely worth trying! It helps me a lot.

I too have been experimenting with using a TENS unit for my restless leg syndrome. Usually, it really works well. Sometimes though, it doesn't seem to have a positive effect. But I am very encouraged by the results I have had overall. I would definitely recommend that others try it.

Relaxis is not the same as TENS. Relaxis uses calibrated vibrations, while TENS uses low electric currents. I have just started trying my TENS unit for RLS, and it has helped so far.

If you are now considering medication for your RLS because the Abilify was indeed masking your RLS symptoms, I would encourage you to look at the alpha-2-delta ligands (gabapentin, Lyrica, Horizant) first. If for some reason these don't do the trick, then try the dopamine agonists (Mirapex, Requip)...

Some of us seem to be very sensitive to the dopaminergic drugs, such as ropinerole. Initially, I could only take 1/4 of what my doctor prescribed without pretty awful side effects. You may be able to take it, just in a much smaller dose. I used pramipexole and broke a tablet into 1/4s. Not sure how...
