Re: Naltrexone for RLS?

What dose of mirapex do you take (if you don’t mind my asking)?

Re: Naltrexone for RLS?

Thanks for posting, Aipulu. Your story gives me hope as a small dose of mirapex is part of my current system. I also use Kratom and a small dose of buprenorphine but do not want to increase the dose of either of those. I am very anxious about the day when I start to augment again. The first thing I ...

You do well to keep an open mind about what the consultant will be like and how well informed. I hope it goes well for you, Betty.

Re: 1st post after 24 years of RLS

Your desperation is all too familiar and very concerning. It does seem clear that something in your regime needs to change. I've just scanned through your history as recorded in this thread. I can't help wondering whether you might need to take a higher dose of opioid shortly prior to going to bed. ...

Re: After augmentation

There is a suggestion that people who have been through augmentation may respond less well to pregabalin/gabapentin as a treatment. I think I heard this first from Dr. Buchfuhrer but it also accords with anecdotal evidence on RLS forums. This would seem to suggest that there is some permanent change...

Re: Melatonin added to the mix

Thanks very much for this. It's really interesting to hear about the small dose being so effective. Also about the importance of the lights. I am truly delighted to read of the benefits for you, Beth. When I first found this forum in 2016, you were in one of your circadian rhythm sliding phases and ...

Re: marijuana please?

Hi Brenda, to revert to your original question about cannabis, I wonder if kratom might prove more effective for you. So far as I am aware, it can be ordered by post in the US from a variety of suppliers. More generally, I agree with the posters who suggest that your neupro dose is high and may be c...

Re: Attempting to get off Ropinirole - again

Betty, it is so hard that you are having to jump through these hoops and debate the possible negative implications of taking up an appointment with a movement disorder clinic. Actually, it is ridiculous. I am perfectly sure you will be more than a match for any interfering uninformed consultant who ...

Re: 1st post after 24 years of RLS

Having checked earlier posts, it was a dose of greater than 350mg that caused headaches. I titrated up to quite a bit higher than 217mg. It was hard to judge when the optimal dose was reached because it never got to grips with the urge to move.

Re: 1st post after 24 years of RLS

As Holland says, I gave dipyridamole a good try back in 2018. Weirdly, it alleviated the creepy crawly sensation which has never returned to the same degree even though it is nearly 3 years since I took dipyridamole. It also greatly improved my daytime well being and cognitive function. However, it ...

Re: Attempting to get off Ropinirole - again

Betty, are you not sleeping because of rls? Or is it something else? What dose of codeine are you prescribed? Would it be worth taking some extra kratom for now just to try and get some more sleep? I know you have said that you are concerned about it becoming less effective but what you are going th...

Or you could try adding in some kratom - it has been more effective for me than the opioids I tried.

Re: Need advice

It sounds like the mirapexin may be responsible for your current bad symptoms. I would endorse all the other observations about your ferritin levels. They do not sound high. As the others say, it is unfortunately necessary to become informed about this condition even when treated by an expert in the...

Re: Lyrica 300+

Presumably you have tried iron therapy - or are not suitable for it? Prior to looking at d/as I would be sure to check out EVERY other treatment first because often it seems to turn out that the people who fare least well on new treatment suggestions are those who previously augmented on a d/a. In t...
