Re: Medical Marijuana

Is your doctor suggesting you go onto requip? That is another dopamine agonist. I would be inclined to discontinue mirapexin, preferably with the help of an opioid (as all the others have advised), and then stay away from dopamine agonists at least for a while - a minimum of 6 months. Going into req...

Re: Attempting to get off Ropinirole - again

It is probably worth getting off the ropinerole if only to see how bad your base line symptoms really are. How is your serum ferritin? I found getting this figure up helped with symptoms. As you don’t like Horizant, it might be better to eliminate this also. There are many on here (and elsewhere) wh...

Re: Dipyridamole

I am wondering if there is a cumulative effect with dipyridamole as it seems to be having an ever improving impact on my symptoms. Of course, it could just be one of those blips that I get when the legs are not a problem (at least I recall getting them way back in the mists of time when my rls was u...

Re: Dipyridamole

Just a quick update: for the last four nights I have halved my dose of pramipexole. I am now taking one quarter of a 0.088 tablet (0.022). I have also reduced my dose of dipyridamole to 250 mg (from 325). I am gradually reducing pregabalin and am now taking 90mg nightly. On this regime I am getting ...

Hyperarousal as symptom of rls

I see hyperarousal listed as a symptom of Rls on Johns Hopkins website and in the recent dipyridamole paper to name but two references. It is attributed to excess glutamate and is said to explain why Rls/wed sufferers are not tired during the day in spite of very disturbed nights. It is my misfortun...

Re: Dipyridamole

I have pondered further on the ‘normal’ issue and possibly exercised a complete ‘u’-turn over the last few minutes. Last night I took Kratom (although less than half the dose I would have taken pre-dipyridamole). I also had 100mg pregabalin (pre-dipyridamole I was on 200mg). I felt incredibly ‘norma...

Re: Dipyridamole

I absolutely agree with Holland that the most marked aspect of introducing dipyridamole is the return to feeling ‘normal’. It is pure wonderful. I’m not convinced that the pre-dipyridamole absence of normality was a symptom of RLS. In my case I think it was caused by the drugs I was on. I suspect th...

Re: Dipyridamole

The emoji was supposed to be only at the end. After the suggestion of adding more drugs. I really need to embrace my inability to access
these sophisticated non-verbal options and stop trying.

Re: Dipyridamole

 It is very early days in this experiment. It could all go belly-up. I embarked on dipyridamole because although my system allowed me to sleep at night - intermittently, I really wasn’t functioning during the day. If you already have a reasonably satisfactory system why alter it? Sat and Sun a...

Re: Dipyridamole

After your and my difficult early trial experience I am starting to think that perhaps the best advice for those that are interested in trying dipyridamole that are already taking medications for RLS might be to continue current medications but add dipyridamole while simultaneously slightly reducin...

Re: Dipyridamole

I am SO happy with this regime at the moment. I feel normal for the first time in years. I have been taking dipyridamole for over a month now - I will amend an earlier post that says 8 weeks - I think it was about 3 weeks at that stage - I must have been tired when I posted that. I am taking 325mg d...

It sounds like it might work on a similar principle to the relaxis pad - counter-stimulation.

Re: Dipyridamole

Good point, Holland. I will be vigilant in looking for the sweet spot. I am planning to reduce slowly so hopefully I will notice if I go past it.

Re: Dipyridamole

Yes; I am fascinated, Betty. I have ALWAYS had the crawly feeling before too. I would have said it was an intrinsic part of the urge to move but it is the same tonight. I didn’t take pramipexole and although my legs are jerking - and my arms a bit too - there is no crawly feeling. The urge to move i...

Re: Dipyridamole

Pressed submit by accident. Have taken a teaspoon of Kratom now to try to get some sleep. Once I reintroduce prami am going to start reducing lyrica. The intention is to eliminate that next.
