Safety, driving, work questions
Considering opioids and MM... I'm wondering how people esp. in the US, handle the legal risks associated with being someone who may test positive for drugs in employment and vehicle accidents, even if not caused by the drug? This is a big concern I have. I mean, do you just pray it doesn't happen th...

Someone probably already posted this, but here is what appears to be a place to provide feedback to the DEA re the usefulness of Kratom, public has until Dec 1 to comment.

Re: No progress yet
Oh no, I actually enjoyed the insider's story! It was helpful and humanizing to me. I hope you, and all of us, find something that works. It's so hard! Thankfully, I do not have a regular 9-5 job. My job is flexible. But that only helps a limited amount. I mean a lot, really, but still limited becau...

badnights, thanks for your advice and reminders about logic. You are right. I will work on keeping my emotions in check with her. My appt is Monday. If she declines I may ask for a referral to stanford, unless she has another compelling approach. views, thank you for that idea! I may do that after m...

Re: No progress yet
She responded basically saying she was aware of the role of opioids in rls and there were certain things to consider like dependency and dose escalation "if you want to go that route." She said I'd need to make an appt with her to discuss or get the meds from my PCP "if she's willing....

beth, thanks yes there are some very articulate people here that's for sure! legs, thanks. Things have gotten better temporarily only because I'm self medicating with tramadol at night, but I'm not sure how long I can do it because it may have given me heart palpitations in the past (also I'm going ...

Re: No progress yet
Steve, Makes me mad that you weren't able to fill your rx locally, that's crazy! Glad you were able to get it through the mail and that you found a good doctor. So sorry for all that lost quality of life during those six years. Truly awful. Ann, thanks again for your support. If my doctor declines a...

Re: No progress yet
I hear you. It might be time for me to push back, as they say. I should not have to suffer unnecessary side effects because others want to pass judgment on the meds that may be the most helpful for me?! Doctors need to deal with their own fears and not put them on the patient. Who is to say that an ...

deb,
Thanks, yes I do need to stop the caffeine. Maybe I'll try it in stages like you, that's a good idea.

Re: No progress yet
There is a very fine line that we have to traverse - we need to push, but not too hard. If we don't push our doctors, we can go through this for eons - or it feels that way. But, if we push too hard, we can find ourselves out of a doctor and with no one to advocate for us. With some docs, you can b...

Re: No progress yet
legs, thanks. I haven't yet sought expert care because I'm wary of being seen as jumping the gun by my doctor...If the neupro doesn't work, and if she doesn't have anything else for me, then I will move on to that. My hope is that she would progress to pain meds but I don't know. I was finally succe...

Not feeling well. Wake up and poor doggie is on the farthest corner of the bed, as far away from me as he can get. Today again I woke up so tired I wanted to cry. I felt like I got about 45 min of sleep total, though I was asleep all night. The Horizant made me dry heave even with zofran so I'm not ...

Re: New here...PLMD...struggling
Thanks sleepdancer! Between your augmentation video and TENS unit success, methinks you are a bit of a legend around here! Yes, I am actually trying to get a TENS for my back and will try it for my legs too. I am very unhappy with the side effects and unsuccess of the medication options offered thus...

PolarBear, I crafted a reply agreeing with you but it got lost in cyberspace. Essentially...I agree! Legsbe, cautious optimism is good news! Even tho I'm plms I still relate to pretty much everything here. I tried the horizant and it too made me feel like crap. Dry heaving in the morning and it actu...

Re: Worse on GABA? Or crazy?
Thank you madmom and sojourner! I am more comfortable with the opioids as I've taken norco before as needed, but I don't dare ask for one yet. I have some leftover tramadol and I slept better last night but i can only take it once a week or so, it gives me heart palpitations. I am also afraid to try...
