Re: Neighbors from you-know-where, anyone?

Views & peanut, how sweet of you to think of me. Thanks. I still can't stand them. I use my earplugs when it gets to be too much. They haven't threatened me recently. They are, I think, barely holding it together. They're not worth my time or energy...That's my new attitude. I went away two week...

Re: Methadone Side Effects Question

Ann, Thanks so much for your understanding and kind words. I felt like the methadone was slowly being released throughout all of the next day...it was too much. Maybe I'll try it again another time but for now I'm going to try some other things. I've been vulnerable to feeling agitated lately...it's...

Re: Methadone Side Effects Question

Hi Rustsmith, thanks for your experience I appreciate it. That's how I feel on it, like you did with 10. I don't think the 2.5 was doing it though. :-/

Re: Methadone Side Effects Question

That's just it. I am FURIOUS right now. I am so angry I have this dumb condition. I am so angry it's so debilitating. I am so angry the methadone is not looking like a good medication for me. I can't drive a car on this medication... The pharmacist said "eye effects" are not a known side e...

Methadone Side Effects Question

I got brave again (read: desperate :D ) and tried the methadone again. I started on 2.5 mg, then 3 days later increased to 5 mg which is the prescribed dose. For those who have tried methadone, did you have a sedation effect the next day? If so, how long did it take you to adjust to it? Or did you n...

Re: Switching off methadone saga

Saga indeed as only fellow sufferers can understand. I'm so sorry you're going through this. One of the most cruel aspects of this disease...stuff stops working or we can't take it. Hope you find something that works asap.

Re: First night of methadone

Ann, I wonder if your GI didn't want you to have the diagnosis in your records because no matter what else you might have, they always seem to blame it on IBS, therefore risking missing something important one day. Just a thought. In my experience, IBS tends to be used as that catch-all, we-don't-kn...

Re: First night of methadone

Although she warned you of a risk, she didn't feel it was big enough to warn you against taking them together, did she? She actually didn't warn me. I found out about the risk here on the board, and asked her about it. She didn't seem to know anything about it! I wasn't impressed. She's only had a ...

Re: First night of methadone

Hi all, Thanks for your kind and thoughtful replies. Good ideas; I had thought to ask someone if I can text them. I will have to think about who. Maybe my sister though she lives far away she could call someone local if problem. The day after I took the first dose of methadone, I started having inte...

Re: First night of methadone

Hi Ann, Thanks. I felt progressively more awful as the day wore on. Long half life of methadone? It seems very true. I may get up the courage to try it again over the weekend, as I'm still not sure if this was a bug or what. But I did also feel sedated... If anyone had a reaction to methadone, I wou...

First night of methadone

I started with 2.5 mg of methadone last night. I was excited at first but then got myself all worked up about the possibility of cardiac side effects and couldn't sleep well at all. The pharmacist said I am on other meds that can possibly cause QT prolongation (Trazodone and Zoloft). I take the traz...

Re: Stopping pramipexole and starting methadone

I think you did the right thing by firing your doctor. A GP should not undercut a specialist like that, and should not treat you like that. That is unprofessional, judgmental, and ignorant behavior. I hope you've been able to find a new doctor that you like. It makes me so mad that you are put in th...

Thanks for the replies. A little overwhelmed right now for some reason. Just thanks for understanding. Polar Bear, happy for your retirement! Hope the visit goes well. I understand, even functioning in retirement no walk in the park either. This damn illness! I appreciate your reminder to act the pa...

Wish I could retire

I've had poor quality sleep for about 2 months or so, and good quality sleep for only about 2 months before that, and then more poor quality sleep for years prior. Doctor's appointment is finally coming up this Wednesday. Going to ask for methadone, which she has discussed with me before as an optio...
