Re: Advocacy

Advocacy. I have just taken to it on the local area (Metro Detroit) because I have been stigmatized by doctors in ER's at times when I come in for an acute respiratory problem. The time before last that I had to go to the ER at local hospital for a respiratory issue, the doctor walked in and said &q...

Re: OH. NO...methadone refill date falls during vacation

Hi...Gaely here,,,I read the replies & realized that I made a huge mistake in making Methadone sound addictive for me, .I think it would make more sense if I had addressed it as at that short of notice I did not have time to switch to an alternative med to get me thru the 2 week trip. I had alre...

Re: OH. NO...methadone refill date falls during vacation

I agree with the stash idea. Sounds like I am a drug addict (these drugs certainly have you thinking like one...and truth is methadone is highly addictive) ) but we are going to a dude ranch in March. I already figured if each month I manage to save one pill . I will have an 8 day stash....just in c...

Re: Looking for natural treatments

I have found that the biofreeze gel is very soothing. It is OTC or available on Amazon. Especially if I get breakthrough symptoms during the night or a nap a light layer from thighs to ankles totally stops the rls fr a short while (up to maybe 3-4 hours). I recently used it prior to a 4 hour airplan...

Re: Is anyone else still on clonazepam?

I have been on 3 mg clonazepam (Klonopin) for several years. For me, it has been initially used as an anti-anxiety drug...the one advantage is it has a very long half life so it doesn't experience much in ups and downs as it wears off. I do know when I have been properly weaned, I definitely have mo...

OH. NO...methadone refill date falls during vacation

Did not see this problem elsewhere. Anyone on methadone needs to read this. After 4 years on methadone and watching refill dates closely, I suddenly realized our vacation to Alaska started 5 days before I could fill my methadone. Called the doctor, and he said there would be no pharmacy in any other...

Re: Horrible attitude from Primary Care Physician

I have been on methadone for 4 years after requip sent me into augmentation . The fact that methadone is used for rls is unknown to most doctors...whoever they are. I could write a book on the horrible ways I have been treated by ER docs, to cardiologists, ....Recently, I went to ER for a fall I had...
