Re: Opiate (Methadone) & Sleep Quality

It was pramipexole, for many years, despite any benzos I gobbled in desperation. At the time I commenced the drug, insomnia was listed prominently in the package insert as a 'common' neurological side effect - that appears to have disappeared. I was severely sleep-deprived, and going more than a lit...

Re: Opiate (Methadone) & Sleep Quality

While I was using methadone for breakthroughs, along with a DA, my sleep was poor and made worse by the methadone.
When I switched to methadone alone my sleep improved immediately and dramatically. I was gobsmacked.
It was the DAs, as I had always suspected.

file:///C:/Users/user/Documents/Health%20-%20RLS%20-%20Iron%20-%20Consensus%20on%20Teatment.pdf Here is the Consensus Paper on iron and iron infusion. It makes clear that the sort of infusion you have, for example, Iron Sucrose versus Ferric Carboxymaltose, will make a big difference to eventual upt...

Re: Potassium Citrate

Hello Rob, and All. I have just read the paper on potassium citrate, quite by chance. I went sleuthing for potassium citrate and find that it forms a goodly part of two 'alkalizing' powders that I am familiar with. One is by A Vogel, the great Swiss naturopath, and the other is a cheaper local South...

Re: Is It RLS/WED? Or Something Else? Or both?

One/two of the 'Somethings Else' that it also is/are is ADD. I have both WED and ADD, the latter very late in diagnosis, but in hindsight always there. If the hypoadenosine-hyperglutamate-hypodopamine-hypoGABA trail is followed up, you will find a lot of ADD. I cannot find the link, I shall search f...

Re: Discussion of Adenosine paper

I have re-read this thread and attempted to understand the paper. It is possible that I may fit all the points outlined by the authors and your good selves. I have had to wear earplugs since I was about eighteen years old because I am so easily awakened by noise. I have not slept without them for 55...

Re: What Calms You in the Night?

Either a small pot of tea, caffeine notwithstanding. This contains theanine. Make a little pot, lay out a tray, ritualize it. A bag in a mug is not a lovely thing. Or a small cup of warm milk and a banana. This gives you calcium, potassium, magnesium and tryptophan. Add a capsule of theanine or scel...

Re: Is your DA causing augmentation?

Betty, I now tell people that I have Willis Ekbom disease and that it is a progressive neurodegenerative condition of the brain.
That shuts them all up pretty damn quick, as they now fear you are about to go barmy on them.

Re: Is your DA causing augmentation?

Betty. oh yes. Yay! We could write a very funny book about all the unhelpful help we have not been given, by friends and the medical profession alike. Now if we broke out in boils or our limbs fell off or our eyes kept crossing or our hair turned green we might get some interest. But you can't see t...

Oh yes, I do know this so very well!
We're all pretzels.
I shall reply in greater ridiculous detail later.

Off for an iron infusion now, it is 08.15.

Re: Is your DA causing augmentation?

Hello, I assume you have two Bassets, how nice. Hello, Bassets. I do not know what time 5.24 is in Idaho, but it is 01.45 am here, and I have been using my bare-knuckles technique to dig to the bones of my right arm and doing an in-bed contortionist-act on my legs. Now I have given up and am drinkin...

Re: Is your DA causing augmentation?

Beth, I realize this and am profoundly grateful. Thank you. Where else can we find anyone who knows whatthehell we're talking about? If I had fifty arms I would not have enough fingers to count the times I have been told to take magnesium, use tissue salts, put soap in my bed, buy a book on Positive...

Re: Is your DA causing augmentation?

Badnights, I am honoured. And pleased to raise a laugh in face of this less-than-funny monster. I will do my utmost to produce the odd smile. The one place we can laugh is here, no? Next, I shall recount my journey to methadone. That really is a hoot, surrounded by po-faced pharmacists looking at me...

Re: Is your DA causing augmentation?

Hello Holland, I'm Bronwen. Thank you again for the information. Methadone is relatively cheap, as the only methadone you get here is for addicts, I think. A rather pleasant-tasting liquid in an anonymous amber bottle. The taste seems designed for little children, how odd. Financing an expensive med...

Re: Is your DA causing augmentation?

What is the proper form of address here? Steve and Holland, or Rustsmith and StJohn? I would like to be correct. Thank you again, I will take this information to my GP today. I have acquired cannabis of various sorts - Indica and Sativa oils, some RS black sludge and some RS suppositories. the latte...
