Re: Kratom berry compote

Its interesting though because, although I feel like my sleep is refreshing and my HRV is high, this scientific article would indicate that opioid have a negative affect on sleep cycles. http://jcsm.aasm.org/Articles/030106.pdf

Re: Kratom berry compote

Just want to continue sharing my experience. I have been taking Kratom for several days and I also monitor my sleep quality every morning via a Heart Rate Variability monitor. Kratom provides the best sleep quality of any drug combination I’ve used. This includes variations of the following: Mirapex...

Re: Does altitude have anything to do with RLS?

Was this trip a vacation? And, looking back since you have had RLS, has this happened on a previous vacation? Did you diet change at all? Were you exercising more than usual or getting extra sun? These are also factors to consider. I’m really interested in unpacking this because my RLS completely al...

Re: Has anyone used Lyrica for RLS

I was recently prescribed Lyrica as well; I have been taking it w/.125 of mirapex. I've done some searches on the forum and it seems that the lyrica helps w/sleep quality, but not necessarily the RLS. Is that true?

Re: Sleep monitor

Hi StJohn,

Are you able to determine your REM sleep as well? If so, hav what you noticed any trends?

I’m wondering this because thc moderately impairs rem sleep and rem sleep is crucial for cognitive performance.

I bought some of the Red Maeng Da, but it is incredibly stimulating. Wondering how you all are able to fall asleep on this.

I just got mine in the mail. The exact strain you recommended from SoCal. Could you tell me the recommended dosing?

Re: What Calms You in the Night?

Not to sound all “new age”, but have you tried doing some meditative breathing and visualizations while walking? Just meditating doesn’t work when I’m my legs start jumping; however, visualizing happy thoughts has been working very well on settling my mind. The idea is that your brain cannot tell th...

Re: Medical Marijuana

Just want to share that I’ve been using a new strain on f MMJ and it has been quite effective. It’s called royal medic, it is 1:1 cbd to thc. I use an alcohol base tincture which is 23mg/ml. I take roughly .25ml a night.

It comes in a 15ml bottle with 350 mg and costs about $60.

Re: Sleep monitor

Thanks again for the responses. This may or may not be helpful to anyone, but just to share - I’ve had a full week of measurements. Your HRV is correlated with sleep quality, better sleep, better HRV. I used my DA for 4 days and a new strain of MMJ (Royal Medic) for 3 days. My HRV is about 12-13% be...

Re: Sleep monitor

Thanks for the response. Yes, I use the Apple version and it allows me to track my HRV/Hr/etc all night. It shows graphical data for the entire session on my phone; however, it seems like they are having issues with the web application and I haven’t been able to view it on my desktop. There is a com...

Re: Sleep monitor

Steve - Marathons and cruises, you are my hero. That's a bummer that you weren't able to sleep as well on your vacation. With that said, I do believe the root cause of my RLS is different than most. Per your response, did you happen to recall your LF/HF ratio? That is the only thing I am concerned a...

Heart Rate Variability Indicators - Specifically LF/HF

Hello - I just typed up a lengthy post in the "Sleep Monitor" thread and I won't duplicate it here; however, I was wondering if anyone has looked into their Heart Rate Variability (HRV)? More specifically their Low Frequency / High Frequency ratio. This is a rough indicator of nervous syst...

Re: Sleep monitor

So, I bought a Polar H10 and downloaded the sweetbeat app. Although I've tracked my sleep for a few days, I haven't been able to interpret my sleep results very well. Did you happen to try this app? However, I have also been using the H10 and the app to monitor my HRV (stress levels & recovery) ...
