Re: Buprenorphine, the good, bad and ugly

Buprenoprhine can cause insomnia. If that happens try taking it earlier in the day. And, give it 2-4 weeks to wear off.

Re: Buprenorphine, the good, bad and ugly

I have a new pain Doctor. I've had her less than a year. She never asked me about my history. She just took over from the previous doctor I had started with since moving to Albuquerque. The first injection she did was in the right spot, last summer. I had sent her a note that my RLS had returned an...

Re: Abilify

So, you are combining it with opioids? It’s additive effect is helping your sleep? If so, there are some papers supporting the use of Abilify with opioids to mitigate some of the adverse dopamine effects. I am probably not the best example since I’m a .0001% I’m going to ask my doctor to prescribe t...

I posted a research paper indicating abilify for augmentation. Here it is https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/3781817 ... mentation.

Re: Using tDCS Alternating Current to Stop Symptoms

Unfortunately, I’m having to use similar techniques because the medications don’t work for me anymore. After putting in the effort, it is more effective than I expected. I primarily get RLS in either my left or right scapula. The tens unit can eliminate these symptoms 100% consistently, and I think ...

They are using ultrasound to temporarily increase the porosity of the BBb to deliver medicine to certain areas of the brain. I’m sure there is a ...

Has Anyone Tried Dipiridyamole During Augmentation?

As the title says, has anyone tried dipiridyamole while augmenting? Theoretically speaking, it could work to reverse augmentation…. Dipiridyamole is an adenosine uptake inhibitor. It stimulates the A1 receptor. The A1 receptor forms an heteromer with the D1 receptor. That basically means they modula...

Interesting case report study for treating augmentation. Any thoughts? Re: Spinal Cord & DRG Stimulator Trial

Thank you so much for responding. That helps me a lot in understanding what to expect. I was not aware that your RLS was caused by pinched nerves/back issues. Your RLS has been somewhat harder to treat, correct? Do you think that is because the pathology is different - not neurological. Mine is defi...

Re: Does oxycodone cause GABA receptors to down-regulate?

After augmenting on Mirapex, my doctor tried many meds (gabapentin, pregabalin, horizon, tramadol, Tylenol #3) and clonazepam. Then I was given oxycodone, which worked. However, it took me six months to get off of clonazepam and it's taken another year to climb out of that hell. For some reason, I ...

Re: Spinal Cord & DRG Stimulator Trial

Got it. So, it was put in primarily for the RLS. I am looking to get this done right now and am meeting with doctors. I do feel like some of the doctors just want my $$. Could you tell me what the process was? Did they try a nerve blocker first before doing anything invasive? Do you know where in th...

Re: Spinal Cord & DRG Stimulator Trial

I have it set for my RLS. I noticed that there is a line. If I have it set too high, then my RLS starts up. With the help of my Rep, we fined tuned the amount of stimulation. In addition, I take meds too. That being said, if I didn't have RLS, then I would focus more on my back pain. I was referrin...

Re: Spinal Cord & DRG Stimulator Trial

I have had a spinal stimulator for 2 years. I think it helps. After it's put in, you will have movement restrictions for 2 months, until the areas heal. Good luck Debbie, Thank you for your response, it is nice to know that this is helpful and to hear from someone who has it. Are you still on any m...

Re: Iron bloodwork

I think that you should fast. From my understanding, ferritin is incredibly sensitive; even coffee can raise your readings. I’m a patient ofd he recommends that I eat nothing and drink only water for at least 12 hours prior to the test. He also told me not to eat a meat heavy meal for dinner the ni...

I think the doctors broke my brain

It’s been 7 years since I first started posting here. It has been a wild ride with ups and downs. I hate to say it but I am much worse off now then when I started this journey. I’m working with a top RLS doctor and he fails to treat me or work in my behalf. He’s basically said there is nothing left ...
