Re: Potassium Citrate

My update...I got a prescription from my doctor for 10mEq potassium citrate, filled it at my pharmacy, and took it for 45 days. While I was waiting for the prescription I started ramping up by taking 500-1000mg of OTC potassium citrate for 3 weeks. It took some time to get the prescription because ...

Re: Potassium Citrate

Any general chemistry book explains how to calculate equivalent weights for chemicals. I simply performed the calculations using the molecular weights for potassium and citrate ions and the -3 valence of the citrate ion. The valence is necessary to convert molecular weights to equivalents. I should...

Re: Potassium Citrate

Rob, all of those numbers are correct, they are just values that reflect different things. The 1050mg value is the number of mg of Potassium Citrate in 10mEq. The 350mg value is the number of mg of Potassium ion. The 750mg value is the number of mg of Citrate ion. They don't quite add up, because a...

Re: Potassium Citrate

I wonder if there is any kind of substantive difference between the OTC potassium citrate powder you used and the 10mEq pills I've received through prescription? Seems the only difference is the extended release part, so maybe it’s being broken down and absorbed in different areas. That’s as medica...

Re: Potassium Citrate

By chance, can you share the link to that YouTube video or videos? Thanks! Here is the link: m After watching the video again, I had to laugh when he says RLS is "very easy to fix" . Also, what dosage of Potassium Citrate did you take during your trial? I took approx. 3,000 mg/day. My und...

Re: Potassium Citrate

Rob, can you clarify...are you taking Citrate or Chloride? The link you provided refers to Chloride. '' Yawny -- sorry about that. Here's the link to the 10mEq pill of potassium citrate (not chloride) that I take: https://dailymed.nlm.nih.gov/dailymed/drugInfo.cfm?setid=2215dc1d-0b5a-469e-9b51-4d74...

Re: Potassium Citrate

Potassium Citrate can only be obtained by prescription I just stumbled across this topic and coincidentally I just finished a 2 month trial on Potassium Citrate. I found out about it on YouTube. I'm off all prescriptions now and with my doctor's blessing, I'm currently trying different natural prod...

Re: Magnetic mattress pad

I find it frustrating when people insist that I try something that hasn't been proven to help. It is like a personal crusade with them. Just a mini rant here I agree. There's a line between trying to be helpful and making a crusade about something. I'm okay with people who make crusades out of matt...

Re: Potassium Citrate

Please feel free to ask away. Even though I'm lashing out at a couple of the mods, I'm actually a huge fan of a skeptical stance toward any claim, even and especially medical claims. I wouldn't expect anyone to believe me or to expect results based on one peer-reviewed study of n=68. I wouldn't eve...

Re: Potassium Citrate

Rob, there are two sides to potassium citrate, potassium and citrate. As best I can tell from a quick read on the topic, urologists use potassium citrate primarily to introduce the citrate to the urine. Citrate is a powerful complexing agent that both dissolves and binds the calcium in kidney stone...

Re: Potassium Citrate

Rob, thank you so much for sharing so that others can learn from your experience and possibly have the same outcome. I’m fascinated by your results and of course I have more questions (thanks for your patience)! Based on your reference to PLMD/S, I’m assuming you had PLMD/S and it has been alleviat...

Fascinating and kind of exciting that it works for you. Please keep us posted. I am not impressed with the journal publisher's reputation (see m), nor with the article itself, but if it's working for you, I do want to hear about it! PS in case anyone's wondering why I am not impressed with the arti...

Re: Potassium Citrate

Thank you for sharing with this board. Would you say there are differences in your response to potassium from food sources (like bananas or avocados), OTC supplements, and the Rx supplements? Also, your blood levels not changing, any explanation that you’ve found for this? Yawny -- good questions. ...
