Hi badnights, I was on the med for about 2.5 months at 1mg.
I only have PLMD and not RLS.
Right now I am not taking any other meds to control PLMD but will be starting Pramipexole (Mirapax) when I et to see my doctor soon, as the hospital has advised that I try it.

Did Rotigotine help you?
I have recently come off Rotigotine, for my PLMD. As I also have sleep apnoea and am in benzo withdrawal it is hard to tease out the different strands that add up to poor sleep andbeing very fatigued. I notice since stopping Rotigotine patches (I had to because my skin had an allergic reaction) that...

Re: Vitamin levels that I need to check
If the ferritin is low you should take ferrous sulfate 325 mg daily with 500 mg of vitamin C on an empty stomach to help get it up. If you can't get it up then an intravenous infusion may help. Magnesium, vitamin D and vitamin B12 can usually be taken with oral tablets, occasionally vitamin B12 wil...

Vitamin levels that I need to check
I am visiting the doctor this week looking to check what my vitamin status is with the aim of treating my PLM. I understand I need: - Ferritin level up to 100 - Vitamin D, Magnesium and B12 at satisfactory levels Is there anything else that should be checked, Vitamin and Mineral-wise? If levels of a...

Ferriton levels/supplements
I am sure this topic has been discussed plenty before - so I understand ferritin levels are key to controlling RLS/PLM.
Any tips on what supplenents to take?

Re: Waking with legs tensed and extended
To clarify, I mean this happens just before I awake in the morning. I do have an enlarged prostate, recently diagnosed, and am seeing a urologist soon. I cannot empty my bladder fully and need to go to the bathroom. This is not a recent problem but then neither are my bladder issues - I have only ju...

Waking with legs tensed and extended
Does anyone else have the problem of waking with legs tensed and extended? Even lifted off the bed sometimes? This seems to happen late in the night, not when waking in the middle. It seems to be linked to a suppressed urge to go to the bathroom and will leave me exhausted before the day had even be...

Re: Introducing myself
Oh, I thought RLS and PLM could be used interchangeably.
It sounds like they are variations on the same disorder, and the medications are identical AFAICS.
bUt if I am in the wroNg place I had netter clear off then.

Re: Introducing myself
How about telling us what meds you take now and dosage, what meds you have tried in the past, how well leg jumping is controlled, how old you are and what your ferritin level is. How many years you have had RLS and how you came to be diagnosed? Taking Clonazepam, just over 1mg now, down from 2mg st...

Re: Introducing myself
Hi and thanks for your messages. My RLS has been investigated in an overnight hospital inpatient sleep study. I apparently have 17 events per hour that disrupt my sleep. The symptoms are waking with a feeling of overwhelming fatigue. On the worst nights, I awake in the morning feeling as if I have a...

Introducing myself
Hi. I have just joined the site and am introducing myself. I have RLS and sleep apnoea. The apnoea is treated by means of a BiPAP machine but the RLS is still a big problem. Pregabalin did not work and neither did Clonazepam, which in fact backfired badly and caused severe withdrawal symptoms, and I...
