Trazadone

Has anyone tried using Trazadone for rls ? I started thinking about it because it is a relatively safe, very old antidepressant that is now used mostly for sleep.

Re: Quell or Kailo or other pain patches

One of our board members uses a TENS to keep her WED/RLS at bay. At first she had to use it nightly, but gradually used it less and less, til it was only now and then. I think she's an exception; most of us have had mixed results or no help from a TENS. But it's certainly worth a try. You should fi...

Re: Augmentation

Just adding to my post. A couple of years ago I tried to get totally off pramipexole, and I did lower my dose to .0125. But stopped due to withdrawal. That bought me some time. Once I felt augmentation symptoms, I knew I had to finish it. I kept splitting that little pill until completely off. The w...

Re: Augmentation

Finished my pramipexole taper at long last a couple of nights ago. Naturally, I’m getting almost no sleep. Would love encouraging words.

Augmentation, Low BP, and chronic heart failure

A couple of years ago I managed to reduce my pramipexole to .125, butt it was a hellish experience and ultimately doctor Trotti of EMORY sleep center advised staying on that small amount. Fast forward to today and I have augmentation worse than ever. So I'm going to have to get off it. I've since mo...

Re: Augmentation again (of course)

I'm back again as well, due to augmentation. Last time i reduced my pramipaxle to .5 mg, after an agonizing period of tapering. Each drop in dose resulted in horrible symptoms. Finally i gave up and stayed in my new low dose. Lately I've been having symptom breakthrough. Then, two nights ago, i inad...

Re: RLS and Increasing Circulation in Legs

I have nocturnal hypoxia, due to heart issues. Now I'm guessing this is another component of my rls and perhaps plmd as well. Elevating legs in the evening would help circulation. I do this for heart failure related dependent edema.

Re: Changing my diet may have solved my RLS

Badnights, this is EXACTLY my experience with DA's. I was trying to ask this question in another post, but wasn't articulating it well. I'm relieved to hear others have noticed it. I, too, have heard their is evidence to support this, but have yet to see it. This likely explains why 1800 mgs of gaba...

Brain chemistry or pathways and dopamine agonists

Has anyone heard of brain chemistry or Neuro pathways being altered by DA's such that one "needs" at least a small amount of DA, after being on them for years? In ordering the Relaxis, i got to talking to the rep about my experience with DA and he said there was a mounting evidence of this...

Atlanta group

Is anyone else in the Atlanta vicinity? I go to the Emory sleep center. Really would love a support group type thing. On day 6 with no miripax. Still really struggling.

Re: Augmentation- Cold Turkey

I was just wondering if i should stop completely. I guess I've adjusted to the lower dose because i slept last night!! Perhaps the lyrica has kicked in. I just feel low level tingles in arms and legs. I'm sure once i stop the last dose, symptoms will return. I'm babysitting my granddaughter this wee...

Re: Augmentation- Cold Turkey

I am thankful for these thoughtful and encouraging posts. I have followed up with the doctors at Emory sleep center, and i will be starting iron infusion soon. Thank goodness. I am down to .125 of pramipexole. I began tapering off due to augmentation. I will stay at this dose for another week and th...

Re: Augmentation- Cold Turkey

I am on day 3 of tapering off of mirapex. I'm down to half a pill at night. Doctor started me on lyrica. Can't take opiods due to need for oxygen at night and opoid use could be a respiratory suppressant. Allergy to tramadol. This is rough, but I'm determined to get off. I'm concerned about taking l...

Re: "drug holiday" from Mirapex

Starting my weaning process from miripex one about a week, due to augmentation. Ferritin level is 38. Nurse practitioner put me on oral iron and i just couldn't tolerate it. Doctor said not to worry about it. But I've read ferritin should be at least 50. Any thoughts?
