Yes, becoming more severe is what I was thinking. Degeneration is defined as "the process by which something gets worse" so I don't know why RLS isn't classified as a degenerative disease. I also try to power through the daytime sleepiness. I would say about 50% successful. I am grateful I am retired and can nap if needed. Why are you increasing your medication? (If I may ask?)

Thanks guys - lesson learned. Because of Doc's increase in oxy dosage (40mg a day) I've already set aside 45mg and plan on more before the end of the month. I actually only needed 30mg a day. A lot tougher than I initially thought when I was ok on 300 mg of Gabapentin. I too am on 20 mg of oxy daily plus 3,000 mg gabapentin. I also take take naps (1 a day) but usually an hour before my next dose of oxy. I get ...

I take 5mg @ 11:00 am, 5mg @ 3:30 pm, 5mg @ 8:30 pm and 5mg @ 1:00am (all times approx). My symptoms are definitely not flu like.

The recommended dose range for oxy in the Management of RLS document is 10-30mg/day, so that puts you right in the middle.
