Yes, more fiber - walnuts, pumpernickel bread, broccoli, apples etc. I still need Fleet every 3 or 4 days but all is good otherwise.

Re: Opioid Constipation
My doctor suggested Movanti 12.5 mg. Anyone try this drug for opioid induced constipation? Not I. What do you think about it? I read a bit about it and it seems to be a very strong medication. I don't know what else you have tried, how those have worked, or how severe the constipation is. After pic...

I just started Miralax on Doc's suggestion. I'll see how that works.

Re: Opioid Constipation
Anyone try Fleet? Probably not good for me but every 3 days and I'm good to go (no pun intended). I'm hoping it's no worse for my body than any other treatment.

I'm reading it helps you get a better night's sleep.ViewsAskew wrote: ↑Thu May 16, 2024 11:12 pmOddly, magnesium citrate doesn't work for me when I buy it alone. But, there is a triple magnesium product (by Swanson in the US) that always works immediately for me. And doesn't work at all for my husband. Go figure.

Re: Opioid Constipation
Thank you Lissa. I will look into it. All these treatments are supposed to be short term but we have a long term issue.

Re: Oxycodone
I have to take methadone approximately 7-8 hours before I want to be asleep (and I can STILL fight sleep even then). I usually take it by 5 PM to have any hope of getting to sleep by 12 to 1 AM. I took it at 6 PM last night and had to force myself to get in bed at 1:30 - and didn't go to sleep unti...

It's astonishing how different some of us are in our reactions to drugs.debbluebird wrote: ↑Sat Mar 30, 2024 10:06 pmOxy never worked for me if I took it more than a couple of days. My RLS would be worse. It was 5 mg

Re: Oxycodone
I had cancer and the oncologist gave me a script for oxycontin. I did not ask for it, was not I pain and did not experience RLS at least until early evening. I had seen the oncologist before my diagnosis because he is also a Haematologist and I was trying to convince him to do an iron IV treatment....

Opioid Constipation
Not a fun topic but rather than derailing further Bearpaws' thread with an off-topic query, I thought I'd start my own. Opioid constipation is a thing and I'm dealing with it now. I'm taking 20mg oxycodone daily and having trouble moving. The laxatives I'm taking, Miralax and dulcalax, don't do much...

Re: Where do I go from here?
I am so happy for you that you were able to get the meds you need and the dose! Happy you don't have to go to PM as they have much sticker rules and make your life a little harder! Good luck! Thank you. So far so good. With PM I was imagining them adding pain to my life with blood tests every week ...

Re: Ferritin levels and IV iron
I am now seeing a sleep specialist in Portland, OR who had their residency at the Stanford Sleep Center in CA. In our first hour long consult, she was very knowledgeable. However, I had a complete iron panel prior to this appointment which also tests ferritin levels of course. My ferritin level was...

Re: Where do I go from here?
That sounds like great news. I hope that the 20mg oxy ER works well for you for a very long time. And also good that you don't need to mess with pain management since they often don't understand conditions like RLS that are not classical pain situations where they can try other treatments to try to...
