bekull, I've noticed the same thing. Its alot harder during the warm weather to wear the stockings but worth a good nights sleep. My sleep is down right now. My sweet husband passed away 2 weeks ago. It was sudden and I found him. So sad lately. They have me sedated for awhile but sleep still comes ...

I would certainly ask your Drs because I think unless you are on bedrest or there is reason to wear them at night it may not be a good thing. I was in nursing before my retirement and we had to make sure the stockings came off at night. I think being in bed does help. I wore mine day and night til I...

My vein specialist made me increase my compression to 20-30.
I am now stable with the pain and can take them off at night.

I recently had to see a vein specialist. The diagnosis was the valves in both legs had gone bad. Dr said if the moderate compression stockings helped I wouldn't need surgery. They most certainly did help. They also helped with my RLS,before the stockings I felt like world war 3 was happening in my l...

your Dr should be able to tell you what applies to your case. In my situation when I 1st began wearing them it was horrible, the leg twitches were in constant "combat" with the veins. Over time I was able to wear them overnight. It takes getting used to. In my case after awhile I would onl...

Hi Betty,

Even though i'm very tall the stockings can roll at the knees.
The trick i've used is to not pull them up so tight, I usually have the heal ofthe stockings under my arch.
Good luck to you!

Hi everyone! I went to a vascular surgeon and found out that my valves in both legs had gone bad. He increased the pressure in my stockings and they really help me. If the top is too tight go to the thigh high! ANOTHER diagnosis! We can't always assume everything that keeps us awake is from RLS. 1st...

Thank you all for your prayers and support. We took mom off of life support and she lasted a couple of days. Two days before she died she woke up and said I love You to all 3 of us. Then that was pretty much it. We started her on a morphine drip and she went peacefully. We buried her yesterday. She'...

Thanks,
I am not doing as well as I can. Another huge problem right before this one. Actually 2 back to back.
It's just never ending with basically no support system..

Well, we're not going to do anything with mom yet. We'll give her a few more days.

I have my coffee normally just in the morning.
My mom fell and is on life support, a meeting this morning..
I've been living on coffee til about 2pm and have been sleeping ok.
I think pure mental exhaustion has made me pass out at night.

Good comparison Beth, Now the Klonopin. How much are you on and when do you take it? Just asking,I began with 1 mg then down to .5 because of the sleepiness and then I started taking it about 2 hours before bedtime. In my case it took about that long to kick in but I wasn't on anything else at the t...

Beth,I feel so sorry for you. Have you tried Klonopin yet? After years of suffering and no sleep it was the one drug that helped me..My daughter who also has RLS was put on it too. I also understand the mental exhaustion and anguish that comes from no sleep. Sleep deprivation is horrible. WHat I did...

Betty, did you try slouching the stockings some. I don't pull mine on tight. I let them slouch and in the end my heel is under my arch instead of at my heal. I was also having the same problem and with letting the stockings slouch the band stays wide and doesn't bother me anymore. Another option is ...
