badnights,
Thank you for your explanation. I was obviously misinformed.

Re: Flaxseed oil
OK, so it wouldn't make much sense to go with capsules. Thank you for the explanation.
It should be interesting looking for flaxseed oil. I don't remember seeing it. I wonder if its even available where I'm at (central Pennsylvania, US).

Re: Stay Safe!
My wife and I are both retired. We don't do a lot socializing anyway. Most of the restrictions don't affect us very much. My hobbies are model trains and piano, which are home-based. I know you can't discuss religion here, but it is the foundation of our approach to this. Hopefully that doesn't viol...

Re: Flaxseed oil
It sounds like you are really on to something important. Although I don't understand some of what you are saying about diet, a couple of questions about flaxseed oil...
Can you take it in pill or capsule form? If so, would it still be effective? Thank you.

Re: Morning Sickness
I haven't seen my family doctor yet. But a week ago, my wife suggested taking tamsulosin in the early morning, instead early evening. That way, if the change affected the morning sickness in any significant way, we might prove it was related to the tamsulosin. So for the last week, I've tried it. I ...

Re: Morning Sickness
Beth, I tried your drug interaction site. Terrific stuff. It tells me that "methadone increases levels of tamsulosin by altering drug metabolism". Sounds like the combination of the two might be delivering more tamsulosin than I'm supposed to be getting. I guess I'd better call my gp about it. Thank...

Re: Morning Sickness
Thank you, Beth, I will. I'm not certain whether the prostate gland is endo or exo. There was some conflicting info about that between articles I read. Still, somehow an endocrinology web site led me to tamsulosin side effects.

Re: Topic of the Year
Yes, the term "Restless Legs Syndrome" sounds like a disease for hypochondriacs. But just the sleep deprivation can cause one to lose hope. (Heck, its used in wartime to break down enemy soldiers.) But RLS sufferers must endure far worse that just that. The nights of dragging yourself around the flo...

Re: Morning Sickness
Frunobulax, You got me reading about endocrinology. I take tamsulosin for an enlarged prostate. And I never noticed that my morning sickness and the side effects of tamsulosin have a lot of overlap. A lot. I can't remember which came first, the medicine or the sickness. But I will take this up with ...

Re: Morning Sickness
Frunobulax,
Thank you for this suggestion. BTW, I had to look up "endocrinology"! I found several endocrinologists in my area. Its worth a shot. Thanks again.

Re: Morning Sickness
Frunobulax, No, the sickness does not respond to food. It remains the same whether I eat anything or not. Something I forgot to mention. Maybe this is important. In the morning, after I'm up and around, if I sit down and doze off a little, I get much sicker. But, I can doze off later in the day, and...

Re: Morning Sickness
Holland, Thank you for your reply. Wow, the folks on this forum really know their stuff! I have had my iron level checked at intervals over the last 15 years, because of the relationship between iron deficiency and RLS. However, my iron level is always found to be normal. Could there still be a link...

Re: Morning Sickness
Deb, Thank you for the suggestion. I didn't know about carbs, flour, etc. A couple of questions about it... - The one cause/effect that I'm certain of is: Amount of sleep vs. degree of sickness. That is, the less I sleep, the less sick I get. And conversely, more sleep, more sickness. Could that tie...

Re: Who is your favorite doctor?
When my GP first sent me to Hershey Medical Center, they had a sleep specialist named Dr. Meoli. She is really knowledgeable about RLS. She set me up on my current medication 3.5 years ago. Its still working for me. However, she moved to Washington state. So anyone in that area now has another excel...
