Flying with RLS

Oay vey! I just got back from Buenos Aires whichg is 12 hours on a plane each way. I tried BioFreeze gel on the way down with no relief and my MagniLife cream on the way back with some relief. We came back via Dallas where they took my jar of MagniLife cream because it was over 3 ounces. So this pre...

I agree- therapies seem to work for a limited amount of time then stop. I don't understand why but I have experienced this. I take OTC drugs such as Melatonin, Valerian, and now I'm trying the MegaLife cream & pills. If it works for a while, it's a welcome relief!

Ah, RLS is an elusive disease. Just when I thought I had something that worked - I had a couple bad nights. But, the cream & pills did seem to shorten the duration. I seem to go 2 - 3 weeks with attacks every night then a week with no RLS.

MagniLife RLS Cream

This cream works. I don't know how or why but it does. I have had RLS all my life and get bouts every night for 3 weeks out of every month. When the RLS wakes me up or if I get it before bedtime, I rub a little of the MagniLife RLS Cream on and in about 5 minutes the sensations are gone or I'm back ...

I tried MagniLife RLS Cream and it worked. OK, I'm skeptical but will keep using it to see if it's long-term relief or just some fluke. I sometimes get "itchy legs" while watching TV before bed (not a real RLS attack) and the MagniLife cream seemed to ease it. I wonder if BenGay would do the same - ...

Adventuregeek - continued... I'm doing the same thing as your doc ordered in that I'm going to bed so late, I have hours of dim light before sleep. My alarm is 9:30 AM and have natural sunlight in my bedroom, so I'm getting bright light first thing when I wake up. Sounds like your doc has a good plan!

Adventuregeek, good for you! I know there's a connection between dopamine and circadium rhythm and I'm sure some issues with RLS can be treated by adjusting them! My system works for me because my job does not require early morning functioning (I've adjusted my lifestyle over the years to accomodate...

We should start a post on hip pain!
I frequently wake up early, maybe 2 hours before I'm scheduled to get up, with sharp pains in my hip. I'm having more trouble getting to sleep at night due to resting on either hip.

Hi Medotmom I've had hip pain that increases when I walk too much or sit too long in one position. It also causes me discomfort when I'm experiencing RLS even though there is no weight on my hip. The RLS must be doing something to the nerves & muscles in the legs to cause this kind of pain. NSAI...

Just Ordered

I just ordered a bottle of the tablets and a cream. I checked out the ingredients and other than Viscum album (mistletoe) that can lower blood pressure, and the Aconitum napellus, which is a poison, I think it's worth trying. I'm assuming the doses of both of these are low enough not to cause troubl...

Well, it's 3 AM and I'm up with RLS. I wanted to get monkey bars installed in my bedroom and hang upside-down like a bat! I've had it so bad that I walked around the house in tears for hours. One of the most difficult things about RLS is that you get very little sympathy because the "normals" just d...

I've had RLS forever (I'm 53 years old) and my hips have really been hurting for the last couple of years. Went through physical therapy and they gave me some exercises to do every day to strengthen the deep muscles surrounding the hip joint. They really hurt when I lie on my side in bed at night. I...

I'm just trying to avoid perscription drugs. I also get frustrated with professionals who want to treat every complaint with a medication. Especially with RLS - they know nothing about RLS except that Requip & Mirapex are the drugs of choice. Once you are on these drugs the chances of them worki...

I get less sleep in the summer, too. My RLS seems to be connected with storm fronts, humidity, etc. I live in St. Louis and we get unbelievable humidity and rapidly dropping barometic pressure. This all seems to play into RLS. When I have multiple night flare ups, I take Melatonin (over the counter)...
