Debbie
Thanks. I have had no nausea just sleepy. I tend toward low tolerance with all drugs. I’m doing better, I wrote under prescription meds section. Everyday it changes so ? Rollercoaster ride.

Re: Methadone sleepy side effect

I am sure of nothing. For the past two night, I’ve slept at night, for 8-9 hours. One night I did not get up to pee! For 9 hours. After an entire lifetime of always being more awake than asleep, I find this disorienting. To wake up , look at the clock, and it’s been 9 hours! I thought I might have g...

Re: Dealing with doctor

Deb bluebird I’m happy to know that you haven’t had to increase the methadone for years. I had a terrible reaction to garbapentin and it also did not help. I’m hoping I can manage on methadone alone for awhile. I saw a 2nd doc at Kaiser and he is willing to prescribe methadone in very low dosage. I ...

Re: Dealing with doctor

Thanks to you both. I have a lot to learn. St.johnh- funny that is my pen name - St. John. My ferritin is about fifty. That’s all I really wanted from the recent visit with Dr G. He is opposed to my getting iviron. I could try oral again. I am fairly certain it caused stomach problems that improved ...

Dealing with doctor

I hope this is an appropriate space to post this topic. It is long so please bear with me. I’m new, joined about a week ago. I’ve been diagnosed with RLS for nearly 28 years, on sinemet (S) and mirapex (M). I’ve been seeing the same neurologist, Dr I, not sleep specialist for 16 years who has been o...

Re: Who is your favorite doctor?

Wow, this is really helpful. He gets it? I’m ok with $300. Is it too much to ask how one purchases insurance from the exchange?

If anyone knows anything about kaisers position on opioids I would appteciate it. Thanks View Askew

Re: New to site. RLS since childhood. Diagnosed 1993

Has anyone experienced a reduction in appetite while taking methadone? My appetite is much lower. It might be due to compulsive eating related to dopamine side effects no longer being an issue. I took mirapex and sinemet for almost thirty years and I did not realize that I was experiencing compulsiv...

Re: Who is your favorite doctor?

I live in Los Angeles area and I have Kaiser. I’m seeing a new RLS doc early July. If he does not work out I may have to go outside of kaiser. Although I may not be able to afford it. Anyone who knows a Kaiser doctor in LA or Ventura County or a non Kaiser doctor in this area please let me know. Tha...

Re: New to site. RLS since childhood. Diagnosed 1993

View Askew and All I got my best nights sleep last night in a long time. Nice dreams. I stayed with half a 5 mg tab afternoon and half at bedtime, total of 5 mg of methadone. I slept from 8:30 pm until 11:30 pm. I was awakened by leg movements that persisted for about 5-10 minutes after I got up. I ...

Re: New to site. RLS since childhood. Diagnosed 1993

I used just 2.5 in afternoon and 2.5 at bedtime yesterday. I woke up with leg movements 3 x but the restless legs did not persist after getting out of bed. I was able to go back to sleep within 30 minutes. Usually once I awaken or am awakened by RLS symptoms I am up all night. The symptoms do not go...
