Re: Potassium - Supplementation and importance on bodily functions
Thank you for your concern Steve, I am very aware of the consequences of too much potassium. I currently supplement 5g of potassium citrate (equates to 1900mg of potassium) split into a morning and evening dose. So with my regular diet i probably get to around 3500mg of potassium, which is around th...

Potassium - Supplementation and importance on bodily functions
Hello everyone, I would like to talk about the importance of potassium for our body and why I supplement my low oxalate diet with potassium. So, the big question is why potassium? Potassium is the main intracellular ion for all types of cells, while having a major role in maintenance of fluid and el...

Re: Another year of relief (Low-oxalate diet)
How have you managed your potassium supplementation - with any doctor's advice, or totally on your own? I have managed my supplementation on my own after having my blood sampled and finding a low potassium concentration (on the verge of deficiency). I started with a low dose and gradually increased...

Re: Another year of relief (Low-oxalate diet)
Hi everyone, I´m still on the low oxalate diet and it´s still working great for me. I have almost no symptoms anymore and can sleep through most nights. For the last year i was supplementing with different amounts of potassium citrate, magnesium citrate and calcium citrate, aswell as garcinia cambog...

Re: Another year of relief (Low-oxalate diet)
I use Go Healthy Go Garcinia Slim Gold, 12 g and 600mg HCA. I usually take one capsule and 1gm Calcium Citrate first thing in the morning after an oxalate dump, which is around 2 times per week currently. Prevously during heavy constant dumping I took up to 4 per day with potasium bicarbonate, or I...

Re: Another year of relief (Low-oxalate diet)
It is your choice, but as per my previous posts I found Garcinia a life saver and had no impact on weight loss. But be careful with long term high daily doses. Thanks for the input. I will will give it a try. What is your definition of a high dose? The highest dosage i can find is 500mg/pill with a...

Re: Another year of relief (Low-oxalate diet)
Once I cleared my kidneys with smelly and cloudy urine, they then started to clear. I'm surprised there are as many people with success as there seems to be, as if I didn't find the papers on HCA from Garcinia Cambogia for kidney stones, my RLS from oxalates experiment would have been a failure. At...

Re: Another year of relief (Low-oxalate diet)
There are things on this diet that activates my RLS i.e. potatoes, bread etc. Hence I'm not going to try it. Potatoes are relatively high in oxalate content, so you shouldn't eat them on a low oxalate diet. For example: 1 baked potatoes has about 96mg of oxalate in it, while it is recommended to ke...

Re: Another year of relief
Please stick to this as most people don't try because they claim diet doesn't seem to impact them, or they don't see any quick improvements and give up. The essentials for dumping are citric acid, best from high dose Garcinia Cambogia, calcium citrate, magnesium other than chelate, and potassium ch...

Re: Another year of relief
Hello everyone, first of i would like to say a big thank you to notnowdad and everyone who is contributing to this thread. It was a great read and convinced me to try to limit my oxalate intake. I have had mild symptoms of rls since childhood, but only during long road trips or very late at night. I...
