Re: New device: NXT 100 ToMAC

Following up on my (frickets) post above - "Noctrix Nidra Device (TOMAC) – the real deal or snake oil?"

After considerable thought, I contacted my neurologist and declined to pursue Nidra at this time. Apprehension over its effectiveness with extreme cases, the short money-back trial period ...

Re: New device: NXT 100 ToMAC

Noctrix Nidra Device (TOMAC) – the real deal or snake oil? I’ve been following and posting conversations regarding dopamine agonists (DAs), augmentation, opioids and such for years. I’m currently recovering from a horrible years-long DA augmentation and pramipexole detox. I’m hopeful for a ...

Re: Dopamine Agonists, Augmentation and Resetting RLS – What to Expect?

Thanks for the note. It’s been a while since my original post and last update. I’m doing ok now but still have some work to do. I was fortunate to find a Neurologist who specialized in movement disorders. I can’t stress enough how important I think it is for RLS patients to be treated by a ...

Re: Need to Find an RLS Doctor in Phoenix

Closing the loop: for anyone looking for RLS support in the Phoenix area, I can recommend Dr. Nikke Niemann at the Barrow Neurological Institute. It takes several months to get in so you'll need to be patient. Good luck!

Re: Moving to Prescott, AZ - Need a Good RLS Doctor and Methadone

Closing the loop: I've been in Prescott, AZ for a little over a year now. It's taken nearly all of that time to find a neurologist. At first, I was only able to use the local Sleep Doctor. He's a pulmonologist treating my apnea, and took over care for my RLS. He has supported my severe RLS and ...

Re: Dopamine Agonists, Augmentation and Resetting RLS – What to Expect?

Thank you for your responses. The support extended from others who have endured similar experiences goes a long way toward helping me maintain momentum. Everyone reacts differently to various medications and treatment plans. I’ve been on Methadone for a while and find it extremely helpful. I’m 7 ...

Dopamine Agonists, Augmentation and Resetting RLS – What to Expect?

Hello. My 20+ year battle with RLS and using dopamine agonists (DAs) has led to augmentation. After a couple years of failed attempts to get off DAs, I think I’m ready to kick the addiction and reset.

Until a few years ago Pramipexole was sufficient. As I’ve read so many times in this forum, my ...

Re: What do you do?

I used to deny my RLS symptoms and toss around in bed, or get up and walk around completely frustrated. Now I just give up, get up, embrace the suck and do whatever passes the time until I can settle down. I bought a podium that I can stand at while poking around on my computer - could be working ...

Re: ER opiates (oxy) vs methadone

I've been taking Methadone for a couple years now and have tolerated it fairly well. It rescued me from augmentation, so I've been a fan. However, I'm facing a move in a few months from VA to AZ. I thought it best to find a new RLS doctor ahead of the move to avoid a gap in care or medications and I ...

Re: What Comes After Methadone?

I'm currently taking methadone. It helped me get past a bad augmentation experience from Pramipexole, and has worked fairly well the past couple of years. Now I'm facing a move from Virginia to Arizona in a couple months and, looking ahead, I'm finding it impossible to find an AZ doctor interested ...

Need to Find an RLS Doctor in Phoenix

Hi. I previously posted a request for help finding an RLS doctor in Prescott, AZ. I have since found two, though both were pulmonologists, and neither is willing to support my current Methadone protocol. The next best search area would be Phoenix - more specifically, a neurologist who's focused on ...

Re: Mirapex class action lawsuit

I too was led into augmentation as neither me nor my GP understood the risks of dosing and long-term Pramipexole use. I had started with a specialist, but years past and I let my primary care doctor take over my maintenance RX needs. It eventually became an untenable situation and I was in serious ...

Moving to Prescott, AZ - Need a Good RLS Doctor and Methadone

Hi! I currently live in Virginia. I've had RLS for 20+ years. My former doctor led me into augmentation a couple years ago. Fortunately I found someone who helped me work though it and find a viable treatment. Methadone was the eventual solution for me. Since starting this protocol my RLS symptoms ...
