Re: What do you do?
I used to deny my RLS symptoms and toss around in bed, or get up and walk around completely frustrated. Now I just give up, get up, embrace the suck and do whatever passes the time until I can settle down. I bought a podium that I can stand at while poking around on my computer - could be working, s...

Re: ER opiates (oxy) vs methadone
I've been taking Methadone for a couple years now and have tolerated it fairly well. It rescued me from augmentation, so I've been a fan. However, I'm facing a move in a few months from VA to AZ. I thought it best to find a new RLS doctor ahead of the move to avoid a gap in care or medications and I...

Re: What Comes After Methadone?
I'm currently taking methadone. It helped me get past a bad augmentation experience from Pramipexole, and has worked fairly well the past couple of years. Now I'm facing a move from Virginia to Arizona in a couple months and, looking ahead, I'm finding it impossible to find an AZ doctor interested i...

Need to Find an RLS Doctor in Phoenix
Hi. I previously posted a request for help finding an RLS doctor in Prescott, AZ. I have since found two, though both were pulmonologists, and neither is willing to support my current Methadone protocol. The next best search area would be Phoenix - more specifically, a neurologist who's focused on R...

Re: Mirapex class action lawsuit
I too was led into augmentation as neither me nor my GP understood the risks of dosing and long-term Pramipexole use. I had started with a specialist, but years past and I let my primary care doctor take over my maintenance RX needs. It eventually became an untenable situation and I was in serious d...

Moving to Prescott, AZ - Need a Good RLS Doctor and Methadone
Hi! I currently live in Virginia. I've had RLS for 20+ years. My former doctor led me into augmentation a couple years ago. Fortunately I found someone who helped me work though it and find a viable treatment. Methadone was the eventual solution for me. Since starting this protocol my RLS symptoms h...

Re: Pit of despair.
UPDATE: Seems so long ago since I first posted this thread. Those were some REALLY bad times. I'm much better now. The methadone has returned me to a new normal for several months now. I worked up to 10MG and seem to have found the right balance. I'm sleeping 7-8 quality hours every night, and my af...

Re: Pit of despair.
After the initial 6 days at 2.5MG Methadone, we increased to 5MG and have been holding there for now. Sleep has been pretty good, getting 6-7 hours a night is so much better. The plan to reduce Pramipexole proved to be too fast and things got very ugly. We found a compromise by holding Parmipexole a...

Re: Pit of despair.
UPDATE: I began drawing down Prmipexole by .25MG every ten days and added Gagapentin 300s 3 times a day. That was OK w/4-5 hours of sleep and moderate RLS symptoms the entire afternoon and evening. Once the reduction got my total daily Pramipexole intake below 1MG/day, the wheels came off. 1-2 hours...

Re: Pit of despair.
Thanks, debbluebird. I am also being treated for sleep apnea going on a year now, and it has worked well - when I'm able to sleep. Potential Methadone conflicts have not come up, but I will be sure to ask. Thanks, again.

Pit of despair.
Hello all! I’ve been dealing with RLS for more than 15 years. Pramipexole had worked, until it didn’t, and my PCP would prescribe more. This continued for many years. Eventually I found myself trying extended release (ER) complimented with smaller doses when necessary. We walked ourselves right into...
