Re: Acupuncture

Thanks, Betty! It's something to consider, I think. Perhaps with some additional accupuncture sessions. I only wish that Medicare would pay for those! Thanks for the magnesium tip, as well!

Re: Acupuncture

Yes, thank you! I agree about the ropinirole. In fact, I started having augmentation symptoms practically as soon as I started taking it (about a year ago) and have steadfastly refused to up the dosage. Since I started acupuncture, though, my augmentation symptoms have gone away. I just started taki...

Acupuncture

Hi! I just wanted to mention that acupunture has been very helpful in controlling my symptoms. I've been doing pretty well with just going once a month. Combined with warm baths before bed and a very small dose of Ropinirole (0.125 mg), I have had many nights lately with virtually no symptoms. Befor...

Iron Supplementation

Hi. I wanted to report that my symptoms seem much better since I began taking iron supplementation. I have taken Blood Builder Minis, which contain 26 mg of iron as iron bisglycinate, for the last 12 days. I recall, in years past, at least two occasions where I was having RLS symptoms and took iron ...

Re: Iron Levels

I was recently advised by a physician on this discussion panel that Ferritin levels should be at 100 or better for RLS patients and that iron supplementation is needed when levels are lower than this. I'm not a physician, but plan to discuss this with my own doctor at my next appointment. How did yo...

Re: Acupuncture

Thanks for asking. I did submit one set of claims, which were denied. However, I might have better luck if I can get a doctor's prescription. That's a good suggestion. Thanks!

Re: Iron supplementation Timimg

I wish I could take it on an empty stomach. I have so many other medications and supplements that need to be taken separately, that I don't think I could manage the timing. Sigh.

Re: Acupuncture

Thanks for your thoughts! It is expensive, and I can't afford to go as often as I would like, either.

Re: Weaning off of a low dose of Ropinirole

Thank you very much for the information. I will look into this further. This was very helpful. I have some ferrous gluconate in my pantry (27 mg tablets), which I have tolerated well when I have taken them. I will need to take something that is gentle on the stomach because I have a bile reflux diso...

Re: Weaning off of a low dose of Ropinirole

Thanks for the suggestion! I have not been taking oral iron. I used to get some in my multi-vitamin; however, I recently stopped the multi-vit because I had to start taking AREDS 2 vitamins for my retinal health, and the vitamins contained zinc, which interfered with the zinc/copper ration of the AR...

Re: Weaning off of a low dose of Ropinirole

Thank you so much for taking the time to discuss this with me in such detail! I have had my Ferritin levels checked once, in August 2020. At that time, the Ferritin value was 27.4. The Iron Serum value was 86. The primary augmentation symptom I have experienced has been starting to have restless leg...

Weaning off of a low dose of Ropinirole

Good morning! I currently take 0.125 mg of Ropinirole daily (about 2 hours before bed). I have mild augmentation symptoms and have experienced these since about one month into this treatment (I have taken it for around 6 months); however, I have avoided increasing the dose and generally find the aug...
