Re: Methodone
Looking back I think I skipped something. I did try methadone and found even at a small dosage I had to fight to stay awake all day. I would find myself falling asleep at work and was worried about driving so it wasn’t for me. Still doing the extended release oxycodone for now. Thanks everyone for y...

Re: Meds after dental surgery triggering RLS
Thank you so much for your insight! I did a lot of internet searches but couldn’t seem to find what I needed. Today I took only the amoxicillin and ibuprofen but was still bothered much if the day. Maybe, as you said, it’s the surgery itself. I had two root canals and five extractions so I imagine t...

Meds after dental surgery triggering RLS
I take extended release oxycodone (Xtampza ER 13.5 mg) and it's been working pretty well for my rls. I had extensive dental work done two days ago and one of the meds they prescribed post-surgery is causing severe RLS and I can't figure out which one. It comes on too soon to take another oxy, plus I...

Re: Methodone
I'm sorry for the late reply, but I've had a lot going on and can finally get back on here and wanted to update you on the methadone. Turns out I did sleep well with the methadone and it did well for preventing the rls to act up, but I had to fight to stay awake all day and would find myself falling...

Re: Methodone
Beth, thank you for this update. I had wondered if that's what was happening with me when I was taking the 10 mg hydrocodone at night and nothing during the day, and then the same with the oxycodone. I'm hoping with the methadone that since it's a long acting one I won't have that problem - probably...

Re: Methodone
Hi Paul! I love this forum. It is so helpful to connect with others and share what we learn. That feeling in the core is - yes - harder to describe than the legs and arms and just a horrible feeling! I'm in Eastern North Carolina and he is my PCP and is the doctor at the little local family practice...

Re: Methodone
So sorry for the late response. I just got back on here today. Thank you so much for this helpful info. I discussed the extended release versions and he prescribed the extended release oxycodone - XTAMPZA ER 13.5 MG Capsule once a day. I take it in the evening so it will help me sleep. The first 3 d...

Re: Methodone
Thanks for your helpful reply, Steve. I see my doctor this week and wanted some information before going so I can try and figure out my next step and know what to talk to him about. I do understand all meds affect everyone differently. Since I know with hydrocodone I'm often struggling all day to st...

Re: Methodone
I'm trying to decide if I should try methadone so this looks like a good place to start for some helpful information. I augmented within a month or two on every RLS med available. My RLS hits at any time day or night and often also involves my arms and even my torso - like my entire body is affected...
