Re: Tongue numbness

Looking back at this it sounds like the complaint of a crackpot; but interestingly, when I decreased the pregabaline from 75mg to 50 the tongue numbness decreased, and then when I discontinued the pregabalin entirely the tongue numbness went away. Whatever. Small potatoes.

Re: Bright Light Therapy and Delayed Phase Sleep Disorder

Beth, that is comforting to hear that even after years, your baseline symptoms improved. Hopelessness about the future is one of the things I am struggling with, so hearing that one person at least had their augmented symptoms eventually improve helps me carry on. thank you. BTW, regarding the origi...

Re: PA’s Diagnosis

2 more cents on the subject of "muscle deterioration." If that were actually happening it would be a serious problem, called rhabdomyolysis, and a blood test called CPK would easily detect it and be very elevated. Don't bother getting the test because the PA's diagnosis is, as had been said, uneduca...

Re: Is augmentation permanent??

So evidently rapid augmentation, and permanent augmentation, is not unusual. And yet, and yet, STILL the medical establishment is convinced augmentation can only occur if you've been on high doses for years. So much education of medical providers is still needed. It really needs to happen in Medical...

Re: Is augmentation permanent??

Beth, that is "interesting" that you augmented in just 4 months because so did I, and not at a very high dose.

Anybody else out there who augmented quickly and didn't revert to their pre-DA condition? Maybe it's a thing.

Re: MUSIC / FRISSON

Yes, ear plugs for my wife, maybe a good idea. Not sure the best way to play the music at night. I guess I could use Pandora on my phone. I'm not very tech-savvy. but yeah, I can relate to the drug cabinet comment. Before this disease I never took anything. Nada. Now I have baskets full of pill bott...

Re: Frustrated with it all!

Susan, I am just writing a quick reply to say that i read your post and am really sorry for you and what you are going through. that sounds so frustrating and disheartening. It's terrible that you have an effective treatment but can't get doctors to prescribe it for you. I wish I had something usefu...

Re: MUSIC / FRISSON

I was browsing and saw this old thread. This is great advice! I haven't tried it yet but I will. I am a musician; majored in music in undergrad. Music has a powerful effect on me, often brings me to tears when it is real, coming from a place of truth, not ego. Music used to be a huge part of my life...

Re: Horrible side effects on pregabalin

No, twice daily dosing didn't work for me. The morning dose delayed the onset of depression until it wore off in the afternoon, at which point I became profoundly depressed again, spontaneously crying while reading a book about someone having a beautiful experience. Until then I was sedated and brai...

Re: Horrible side effects on pregabalin

Betty, I really think my problems are due to interdose withdrawal, since after I take a dose of pregabalin in the evening I feel pretty good. I can feel the anxiolytic effect in about 30 minutes and the depression goes away, too. It's just the next day, when the drug has worn off that I feel horribl...

Horrible side effects on pregabalin

First, I see my username a lot on this discussion board and I apologize if I am talking too much. Now I feel like I will be whining, but I wonder if anyone has any advice they can give about what I should do with my pregabalin. I posted on the UK RLS site, adding on to another person's thread about ...

Tongue numbness

Hi all. I just started pregabalin 4 nights ago and for the last 2 days, the end of my tongue has been slightly numb. Continuously. It feels like if you burnt your tongue on hot food. Has anyone else experienced this? It could be unrelated, but I haven't identified any other new exposures.

Re: PLMD

Bill, I would just like to add my 2 cents. I, too, enjoy running, and in the past found that if I had to stop for some reason I became very depressed, and when I ran regularly the depression got better. Since depression is a big problem with RLS/PLMD I would agree with Steve that it wouldn't be a go...

Re: certainly someone must have seen a neurologist

Ken, I wish you the best on this difficult road we travel. I assume you have been screened for diabetes, a common cause of peripheral neuropathy? At some point you should try and nail down the neurologists on whether the tests or procedures they are doing will actually change your treament or the co...
