New device: NXT 100 ToMAC

Dear Friends: My dr. informed me that the FDA has just approved a TENS-like device (it is NOT a TENS unit) for mod-severe RLS. It is currently available in three states, CA being one. I am hopeful someone is a new user, or knows a bit more about the device and supporting research. The company's phon...

Re: How does community feel about Horizant?

I was suffering from significant daytime RLS even while taking 60mg/day. Once I increased the dose to 1200mg/day, my daytime RLS became well-controlled.

Re: Daytime breakthrough

Thank you all for your suggestions. I increased my Horizant from 900mg to 1200mg and that has significantly decreased my daytime RLS.

Daytime RLS??

Dear Friends:
My nighttime RLS is being well-controlled by Methadone (20mg) and Horizant (900mg). But now suffering with moderate RLS during the day. Doc - a well known expert- says it’s anxiety!! I know that’s incorrect and am wondering if anyone has had similar experience. Thanks

Re: Methadone and weight loss

I find that Methadone makes eating breakfast very difficult as no appetite. Best wishes.

Daytime breakthrough

Dar Members: I am currently taking 20mg Methadone (10mg in morning and 10mg at night). I can sleep with this regimen. The BIG problem now is very significant daytime RLS, typically every day and most often for the entire day. Legs are flying even as I type this message! Any ideas or suggestions will...

Continuous movement vs spasm

Dear Friends I am a longtime RLS patient whose symptoms began classically with mostly the legs being affected. After a prolonged augmentation, my symptoms became primarily arms and upper back. Most recently, I am suffering from ongoing spasms of all major muscle groups (calf, thigh, hips, upper back...

Re: Methadone

Re Sinemet:
Correct- inappropriate prescriptions of Sinemet with increasing doses resulted in augmentation- a completely avoidable outcome.

Methadone

Dear Friends: I was fearful of methadone, especially experiencing withdrawal if circumstances required. However, virtually all of the medications we are associated with such concerns. I had a very bad experience tapering off of Sinemet, requiring treatment at an urgent care. I am posting now because...

Methadone side effects

Hi All:
Like many methadone users, I am suffering from nausea and abdominal pain. But, what I am confused by is that these symptoms only occur after about 8-9 hours when I think much less methadone is circulating in my system. Has anyone experienced similar problems? Thank you.

Hi Rick
I use a company called Truax for Horizant- less than $100 per month.

ER opiates (oxy) vs methadone

Dear Members: I will likely be faced with a choice between a trial of ER oxycontin or methadone to control very severe RLS. I would appreciate hearing about your experiences with either. One strong concern for me is that, although opiate withdrawal can be very difficult and dangerous, it's duration ...
