Thanks Betty for your reply.
I had an iron infusion two months ago, prior to my iron infusion, my ferritin was 180. So I am guessing low ferritin may not be the cause of my plmd.
I am surprised pregabalin helps REM sleep. I guess I will have to try up the dose of pregabalin to 150 mg.

Pregabalin and Deep/REM Sleep
Hi everyone, I am taking 75mg Pregabalin for my PLMD. I do not have RLS so I only take Pregabalin before my sleep. With Pregabalin, I can sleep, but when I check my sleep tracking app, I have very low, sometimes no Deep and REM sleep. Does anybody have any advice in increasing Deep and REM sleep? Al...

Re: Diet
Since losing this weight, I have not had any RLS. It's been 2.5 weeks since my last RLS episode and I really can't believe it. It's got to be that the weight is not pulling on my back. My RLS stems from my pinched nerves in my back. I just find this very interesting. In the past, I always thought t...

Re: Clonazepam Tolerance Build-Up
I have been on Clonazepam for over 25 years for lifetime RLS and PLMS. Started at 0.5mg now at 2 mg and neurologist added 300 mg Pregabalin 5 years ago. 10 years ago, over 6 months, I got off Clonazepam for a year and took ever increasing doses of Ropinirole for a year. I think I augmented immediat...

Re: Clonazepam Tolerance Build-Up
Thanks Steve.
Why is Gabapentin the preferred choice over Pregabalin?
Also, is additional sleep aid necessary provided that Gabapentin and Pregabalin help with sleep?

Re: Clonazepam Tolerance Build-Up
Hi Steve, thank you for your reply. Hope you could also shed some light on my follow-up questions below: 1. From what I have read online, Gabapentin also poses risk of developing dementia in the long-run. And that it also needs to be taken on a daily basis as opposed to Clonazepam which can be taken...

Clonazepam Tolerance Build-Up
Hi, I have PLMD without RLS as a 35 year old. Eversince the onset of PLMD 2 months ago, I have had terrible sleep from insomnia, frequent awakenings, and chronic fatigue. 3 doctors I met previously didn't want to prescribe anything but Mirapex. I didn't want to take it because I read in this forum a...

Re: Very Severe RLS/PLMD & Violent Leg Kicking
Hi ViewsAskew, What qualifies as a tiny dose? perhaps 0,125mg per day? I have PLMD at the moment, and my GP prescribed Sifrol 0,125mg per day before sleep. Also, are you taking pramipexole on a daily basis? My GP doesn't recommend taking it on a daily basis because he says it could lead to augmentat...

Re: Waking up with a racing heartbeat and trouble falling back asleep
Thanks Steve. Just met a neurologist today, but he prescribed me a pramipexole. I am worried about taking pramipexole after reading many posts in this forum about augmentations. I asked the doctor if we could try pregabalin but he dismissed me saying it is not suitable for treating PLMD, which is qu...

Waking up with a racing heartbeat and trouble falling back asleep
Hi, I am a new member here. It's been over a month now where I have good sleep for the first 3 hours then wake up suddenly with a racing heartbeat. After waking up, I just can't go back to sleep so I spend the rest of the night laying on the bed. Is this a common symptom of a PLMD? This forum has a ...
