Ann, I'm glad you figured out what was causing your pain. It is bad enough to be in pain, yet another thing to live with uncertainty of what is causing it. I have never heard of FM attacking that quickly. It's been my experience that FM kind of sneaks up on its victims. I do want to warn all of you ...

Virus?
Was there a virus on this website recently? During the past week I signed on a few times and got really strange messages.

Good news
The blood work for RA came back negative. I still have all the same aches and pains. My fingers and toes are still stiff, and my little finger does a trick about popping into place when I move it, but I don't have to worry, for now, about RA.

Thanks
Thank you all for your kind words. It was just what I needed, just when I needed it. ViewsAskew: It would be rare for your husband to have FM. There are men who have it, but not often. It's another of those things that we ladies have mostly to ourselves. I was about to say we wouldn't mind sharing, ...

IBS is just another component of FM. Some people have it without having FM, but many FM people have it. I have a great gastro-guy whom I trust. He is also familiar with FM. Can't beat that. One great side effect of the methadone I'm on everyday is constipation-- beats chronic diarrhea all to pieces....

ViewsAskew, No, you don't have to have all 18 tender points to have a FM diagnosis. I was diagnosed years ago. However, I do have all points. I've had that long list of stuff for years, but I was coping with it quite nicely until a little over a year ago when I took a dive I couldn't get out of. I s...

No RLS, just FM & RA and despair
Hello people, I needed a place to complain, and you people were so kind to me in the past. I haven't posted to this board in ages. It was once suspected that I had full-body RLS, but it turned out that I had neuropathic pain from my fibromyalgia that was causing my wiggly, antsy, restless feeling I ...

If it ain't broke...
I finally found something that seems to be giving me some relief from the terrible pain of FMS plus the weird sensations I was experiencing without a lot of side effects. I'm happy. I don't think I'll tamper with it.

guarded optimism
Today I had very little of my horrible restless feelings. I am beginning to think that my new drug combination might help. I had my usual 1200mgs of Neurontin and my half pill of Methadone. I only needed a half Tylenol 3 twice today to keep the feelings at bay. I have been doing something like three...

Ariana "Guest" seems like a very bitter person, maybe even somewhat troubled by something. If she wants friendly debate, she should approach people in a friendly manner. I find plenty debate on the boards, but I also find discussion, support, and information, which I'm certain all members would exte...

FMS
Jumpy, In many books on FMS there is mention of RLS as one of the symptoms of FMS. That's all I knew about it before I found this forum. So I'm not surprised that many people have both. Many people I know who have FMS as their primary condition also have RLS. I'm taking the Neurontin and Methadone (...

another part of the story
The last time I checked in here I told you that I had "fired" my neuro and refused to take any of his meds. For the past week, I've been treating myself with a half Tylenol 3 as needed for whatever it is that I have. I finally saw my rheumatologist today. He's the one treating me for the fibromyalgi...

paranoia runs rampant
I, too, have wondered what doctors write about me and pass on to new doctors who always ask for records. Maybe if we polled everyone on this board we'd hear more concerns about what those mysterieous markings are in our medical records. No matter, in many ways we are dependent on the docs although t...

thanks for your story
Becat. your story is so heartening. Just a little over a week ago, I decided to "fire" my neurologist. I have been kind of medicating myself this week until I can see my rheumatologist tomorrow. You have given me the courage (I hope) to tell him honestly what I think.
