It's good to hear from you again Corrie, and thank you for your well-wishes. It sounds like you've acquired some insights into your condition, and how you respond to the medications you're using. I once had a doctor that suggested a one-day "medication vacation" once every week or two, so ...

Doety, I feel your frustration, and I'm sorry that you have yet to find that place where everything just seems to come together successfully for you. For what it's worth, I personally have found that there are times when I focus so intensely on "arranging" the circumstances in my life that...

Thanks Polar Bear, I've become cautious about celebrating the successes of my RLS treatment. I now also know that if the medications I'm taking lose their effectiveness in time, then I can try another medication or combination. I've also noticed that medications that haven't worked out for me in the...

Doety, I need to learn more about sleep apnea...the central apnea that you have must really be impacting your daily life activities. You mentioned that the methadone was responsible for this apnea? Or do you have a pre-existing apnea that's being aggravated by the methadone? I've never used methadon...

Took 50mg of trazodone last night, decreasing gabapentin from 1200 to 800mg, 1mg of clonazepam, and 1 tablet of the oxycodone/acetaminophen last night. One thing about taking trazodone for me is the amount of "dreaming" I experience while I sleep...but at least I'm asleep! The first hour t...

Doety, Sorry for the nearly 6 day delay in replying...I was out of town without a computer. I don't know if your question regarding the 3rd medication was directed towards me or to Susan. I've been taking Norco (hydrocodone/acetaminophen) in addition to the gabapentin and clonazepam. Sorry to hear a...

The trip to Chicago last week went well, but I'm glad to be back home in Alabama. I hadn't flown in 9 years...failed the metal detector 4 times in Pensacola...and on the way back, flying from Atlanta to Pensacola, after lifting my mother-in-law's carry-on into the overhead storage I did something to...

Polar Bear,

Thanks. I'll do a search under "weird jaws" or something...that should yield some results!

Have a great day!

Susan, Good to hear from you again. The only reason that I'd try Lyrica over gabapentin at this point is because gabapentin, at the 1200mg I'm taking each night, doesn't really help with the early evening RLS and neuropathic pain (spine surgery 2 years ago) much at all. I think that's why the neurol...

Ann, I'll try to participate here as much as I can. I haven't been able to work for nearly two years now, and I really need to have more purpose in my life. I can only sit and stare at the setting sun for so long until one of two things happens...either my RLS makes me want to leap out of my chair, ...

Bethf, I think you're onto something...that maybe just being here listening, and offering encouragement to those who are going through a rough patch (even when things are going well for us)is a way to pass on some hope that things can change for the better. Many of us share some of the same symptoms...

Ann, regarding the previous "misleading" numbers of those involved in this forum's activity, I now understand. I guess my question regarding the participation here stemmed from my perception that many of the posters here a few years ago seemed to interact almost as a "family", an...

Zach, thanks again for your help with this. I'm going to ask my PCP for a prescription for oxycodone 10mg, without acetaminophen. I'll call the pharmacy to ask if the tablets are scored, so that I know what quantity to ask the doctor for...if the oxycodone continues to be more effective than the hyd...

Thanks Zach for your helpful information. I really haven't been taking the meds with more than 1/2 cup of water, but I'll try your suggestions about ways to possibly make the meds work faster and more effectively. I'm going to ask my PCP for a prescription for the oxycodone instead of the hydrocodon...

Hydrocodone vs Oxycodone

Could somebody please tell me what the difference is between hydrocodone and oxycodone? When my RLS goes nuts in the early evening, and I take one-half of a tablet of hydrocodone 10/325, I usually have to wait 1-3 hours for the symptoms of RLS and post-surgical right foot pain to subside. But when I...
