That's d... tough news. We're hearing a lot of that kind of news lately. I agree with the above. If you have to get a job, try to get one in the field of your dreams. Your dream is only postponed; it's not cancelled. Anybody with the motivation to go back to school after four kids has certainly got ...

I think that knowing that SSRI's are implicated in RLS augmentation would indicate trying something ELSE before trying Remeron or another SSRI. I went through - just counted 'em - ELEVEN different anti-depressants before I found help in plain old Wellbutrin. And seeing as how you have to be on an AD...

Not long ago there was a study (only one study and not many participants, but a reasonable cohortl) that found 10% or fewer of RLS patients had increased RLS from taking anti-depressants. ng if I had needed it. I'd still probably try not to, but if I needed it? I'd do it. My own research on this to...

I've tried Remeron and discontinued it. Don't really remember why. Though I think it was one of those that had side-effects too pronounced to stay on it long enough to adjust. As noted above, it's a type of SSRI, and SSRIs often aggravate RLS symptoms. If it's mainly for sleep, have you tried Lyrica...

Just relating personal experience. The side-effect I was talking about in my previous post was nasal congestion from Trazadone. I was prescribed the Trazadone to try to help me sleep, however almost exactly 45 minutes after taking it, and every single time I took it my sinuses closed up so badly it ...

I once had a side effect from a drug so rare that my doctor swore there was no way that drug could do that until I researched the clinical studies and brought the information in and showed it to him. Drugs have different effects on people and when a doctor dismisses patient complaints it's necessary...

... I detest Florida and always have. I call it the monotone state. .... I hear ya!! Cute name. Years ago I used to travel there several times a year. It's a great place to go for a week in the winter, but there's no way I've live there. Not even as a part-time snowbird. It's just boring. Sorry if ...

Weight and sleep disorders definitely have a tie, but my take is that RLS isn't a sleep disorder , it's a movement disorder in the same class of disorders such as Parkinson's, and why neurologists commonly deal with RLS whereas sleep medicine doctors deal with sleep disorders. Your movement disorder...

Hey, Dale, something just occurred to me. I mentioned it in passing earlier in the thread, but didn't think of its significance until now. You mentioned a psychiatrist, and you're describing depression (no stigma, I've had it and I'll bet many here have or do) so the following is really important: m...

I see myself being a drug addict. Dale Dale, this attitude is simply a result of acompletely misguided and misdirected social stigma on the part of the general population who has no idea of what it's like to live with a chronic illness. Let me help you free yourself from that incorrect thinking and...

I had a lengthy and interesting conversation with a knowledgeable person inside the insurance industry yesterday, giving me some insight on how the insurance industry would view a two-tier hybrid risk-sharing system as I proposed. Mainly I wanted to get a sense of whether it would be easier to under...

I am going through this all by myself. Dale NO YOU'RE NOT. NOW YOU HAVE US. However, if you need some real live warm bodies to share with, find an RLS support group where you are. The RLS foundation has a list of such groups. If there isn't one where you live, START ONE!! Your comment about deplete...
