When I wanted to halve my dose of Requip, my neuro said I wouldn't feel any difference for 5 days. In my case it took 3 days and then Bam! horrible restless legs. It could be you're not off it long enough to affect you. Just a guess anyway. I can skip a night with no problem - for me the 3rd night i...

The nausea went away after a couple months for me. It also helps to eat something with it. Also, if the symptoms have already started, it takes forever for Requip t control them. Much better to get "a jump" on it and take the med before symptoms start.

I just changed to generic Requip and so far haven't noticed any difference. They're not that weird shape which makes them easier to cut if you need to.

I have been on Requip for 2 years, currently taking .5mg about an hour before bedtime. My neurologist says the usual dosage is between 1 and 2 mg, so my dosage is pretty low. At one point I was on 3mg for a short while but got no additional benefit so went down to 1mg and now down to .5. I tried to ...

I take Buspar for mild anxiety. If I take it in the evening it starts the RLS creepy crawlies but I can take it in the morning and afternoon and be fine.

It has definitely helped the anxiety and overall has been an ok drug for me. I also take Requip at night.

Charlene, I have used Ambien CR and it works well for me with no side effects. I only take it occasionally. I do the same thing you do - wake up at 3am and then can't get back to sleep til 6. Then I have to get up for work! Now my insurance is balking about paying for it. They want me to try regular...

Hi Terrytoons I've been taking Requip for 2 years without many problems. For the first 6months I had nausea but it gradually got better. I took 3mg for a short while trying to stop PLMS but that didn't help so dropped the dose to 1 mg as soon as I could. I have been able to cut my dose from 1mg at b...

I don't post often and never read the NON RLS part until last week. To me, it has no place on a forum about RLS, but then I can just choose to not read it so it won't matter to me either way. Any time you get into a political or religious disucssion there will be people who get mad and leave. I'm on...

I take .5 Requip and Ambien CR sometimes together and don't usually have a problem until last night. It's odd you brought this up because that's what happened to me just last night. I figured I was dreaming and not really awake because I feel rested today. I don't often take Ambien unless I haven't ...

Vinny, I definitely notice worse RLS when I consume sugar, alcohol, or caffeine especially in the evening. I can get away with eating sugar, chocolate, etc at lunchtime but no later than that. It's discouraging that even one glass of wine at a nice dinner out throws me into fits about 2 hours later....

Yep, I have had that too. It only happens if I'm just waking up or just drifting off to sleep. It's like my whole body goes into a spasm and shakes for a couple seconds. Very frightening. I can feel it travel up my spine. I thought I was having a convulsion at first. My neuro didn't seem to think an...

I just want to add my 2 cents. Those are the exact symptoms I had a year ago. After exhaustive tests (MRI's of neck and spine, plus x-rays) and about 25 blood tests, they eventually diagnosed it as RLS. I no longer have the shooting pains, but still my legs ache at night sometimes. I take Requip and...

I'm on 1mg of Requip, but never had that sensation. I found that most of the side effects of Requip become less bothersome after awhile. But not being able to sleep would make me question if that's the right med.
Requip usually puts me to sleep.

I, too, have the muscle tightening and spasms. In fact, that was my very first symptom that drove me to the Dr. I couldn't figure out why my body was moving when I didn't want it to. I was actually surprised when he said RLS. I used to have creepy crawly sensations too, but that is mostly gone. I am...
