Thanks so much Ann but I wasn't totally clear. Right now I'm contracting here for a quarter. If all goes well they should be able to hire me at the end of that which would be christmas. It may even be two quarters that would be pushing it. Worse case - it doesn't work out and they don't hire me. But...

Emily, I wish you the best of luck with whatever you decide to do from here on out but i'm thrilled to hear that you had some relief with the patch. That's awesome! Reassesing your rls sounds like a good idea. I'm sure it's easy to drown in medications and get blurry about everything and taking a st...

Aiken, I don't know if it's common or rare but I'm the same way. I once let my dentist give me TWELVE shots of novacaine so that he'd believe me. I told him after the second shot that it doesn't work very well on me, he just kept poking away and then touching my nerve and I'd yelp, and he'd poke me ...

Rebecca, Thanks for all of your kindness. I hope that you're feeling ok too. I've been out of Lyrica for the last 4-6 days and the last two nights I didn't sleep because my daughter woke me up with her cough. Well I picked up more Lyrica from my doc yesterday and I'm SO happy to say that I slept lik...

Thanks so much for all of the info Andy!! I would definitely consider seeing your doctor as he's reasonably close to me. I am uninsured so I can't afford to see neurologists or sleep docs at this time. (They cost 200-400 bucks to walk in the door uninsured!) I'm currently taking lortab/dilaudid and ...

Emily, I'm glad to see you back and I hope you're feeling better. I was hoping you'd come back because I wanted to ask you - how is the Fentanyl Duragesic working out? I was going to ask to try one of the patches to take a 'holiday' from lortab for a few days but my doctor ended up prescribing some ...

Good morning Rebecca, First of all I don't want to take too much credit for any avoidance of Lortab. I don't avoid them. I've just found that adding the Lyrica has made conserving them a little easier because it relieves some symptoms in the morning and helps with sleep. However, lortab are, plain a...

Andy, I'm not sure where in Illinois you're located but I'm in the northwest suburbs and my doctor search is leaving me drained and depressed. If you like your doctor do you think he would mind a referal from you? I'm currently considering Ann's family doctor who is an hour and a half away. At this ...

Rebecca, First let me say that I believe you will come to depend on any medicine you find that significantly helps your symptoms. Once you get used to being symptom free or feeling that improvement, stopping it will make you feel worse. That's just logic. However, I have also just recently learned a...

Excellent summation Ann, I understand. And thank you very much. I've probably had rls most of my life but it wasn't a major irritation - until it became painful. Over the last year the sensations in my legs, painful and otherwise, have steadily increased. While researching the symptoms I came across...

Ann, I just mapped out Peotone and it's 60 miles from me as well. South and slightly east. If you're willing to go that far for him and you're that sure he'll prescribe all the meds then it will be a real consideration for me. I can't afford to screw around much longer. My podiatrist is great about ...

Thanks Ann, I may get desperate enough to do that. Your doctor sounds like the angel in my dreams who tells me "don't worry, we'll do whatever it takes" ha ha. I've thought from the beginning that it just takes a good person who holds a phd to treat rls, not a specialist. I believe in getting a phys...

Well I had another discouraging experience with a doctors office today. At lunch I called the first dr. on my list. Dr Ivanenko in Elk Grove, IL. Since I am uninsured, my goal is to find out how much a visit will cost and weather or not they will prescribe narcotics for rls or any other meds on the ...
