(Thanks Views! Hope you're doing well) Glad you said that Zach - this is a good opportunity to ask - if anyone knows of any good articles that would be handy to bring in to a doctor or any good snippets or sources or anything, please provide links or pastes of stuff that could be helpful. We should ...

I would print out some information from the foundation's website that lists the recommended medications so that your dr. can see for himself that opiates are on the list. Go in there armed with as much information as possible. Be succinct and get your point accross in a brief and sincere way and see...

I've also tried quinine in the past and while it can help with some of the tense cramping sensations it does not provide overall relief for rls symptoms. Some leg sensations and pains may be caused by nocturnal cramping that you may not even be aware of though! So as long as it's not bothering you t...

RLS can definitely be felt anywhere. I think I actually noticed it in my arms before anything, although I don't have any uncomfortable sensations besides the need to move them so I never thought it was actually a thing, just thought it was something weird that my body does. Which it is but it's the ...

Unfortunately, Ultram makes my symptoms worse. I take it and I feel like I've drank about 15 red bulls, I'm jittery and spacey and my legs go crazy. Like when I consume too much caffiene or alcohol. They go wild and I can't stand it. I wish it worked. The only thing that truly eliminates my symptoms...

I know that most opioids, if not all, slow down smooth muscle movement in the gastrointestinal system, causing constipation and tummy problems. Maybe these symptoms are due to the hydrocodone's effect on the smooth muscle in your GI and how everything is flowing, or not flowing, in there.

Lynne, If doctors are told to decide between practicing medicine and prescribing narcotics I'd like to know how many of them respond by asking what they should do with a patient who's suffering with chronic pain. The DEA will never come flat out and tell patients that despite the compassionate docto...

Hos, Absolutely. MOST of the blame can be given to the DEA. If the DEA weren't silently threatening doctors and making the drugs "taboo" then the pharmacists wouldn't judge and the doctors wouldn't be afraid. It seems that a decision needs to be made as to who is ultimately responsible for a persons...

Has anyone ever seen the scene in the movie Magnolia, where Julianne Moore is getting medications filled for her dying husband and the pharmacist makes a comment about how she's getting some "pretty strong stuff" and she flips out and yells at them and says "shame on you!" over and over. That's what...

I know food is a major factor but I think you're right about the intestinal part which I never thought was an issue. Opiods tend to back you up. I notice that when I'm very backed up from the constipation, sometimes the pill just doesn't work as effectively. It feels like it never gets to the place ...

Morgan, what did the doctor say when you explained that the other meds didn't agree with you so you stopped taking them? I would not have left that office until I was confident that that doc had a clear understanding of what happened. Don't trust anyone with your treatment alone or with your reputat...

Well God bless ya if caffiene helps you. Caffiene absolutely drives my legs crazy. Caffiene and aclohol are my worst enemies. At least with alcohol it makes them feels better and then hurts when it wears off. With caffiene they just start to burn! At least for me. Good luck with stopping the mirapex...

Also, I've never even been tempted to get a flu shot so I don't know about that but I can vouch for the antihistamines & cold medicines. I got sick in august and took lots of tylenol cold and sinus and man was I doing a horizontal tap dance, for three days straight. Horrible! I've been permanent...

Randy, Diluadid is a potent narcotic. It's hydromorphone - synthetic morphine. I've been taking it for a month or so and it's great for my legs. I switch back and forth occassionally between dilaudid and hydrocodone to kind of take a break from each one so that they maintain efficacy for me. I'm gla...
