Re: CPAP

My father used to snore horribly, and he would stop breathing. We didn't know about sleep apnea then.
I wasn't surprised when I was diagnosed with it. But after i began taking Methadone, I got another sleep test. The doc called me one afternoon sounding very distressed and said: "Well, you don't ...

Re: snake oil

Snake oil is something you fool people with. Comes from the wild west, when a guy with a mustache and funny hat, driving a covered wagon, comes into town and starts selling "medicine" to cure "what ails you." It's usually all alcohol.
I think Peanut is trying to be funny. For sure, you can put ...

Re: Suboxone - Living on the Edge

eeFall:
I've given myself permission to take a shower anytime I'm miserable in the middle of the night. It helps so much. Even though of course I wake up, the hot water relaxes me enough so I can go to sleep. Listening to my I-Pod also helps. And I exercise every day. If I don't, no way I'm going to ...

Re: Mirapex ER

I'll try it and report back. It scares me (well, all of it scares me) since I was so dependent on both those drugs.
Last night, I took three codeine -- I'm thinking one of the reasons I have terrible nights on the two codeine pills I'm taking is that they're not strong enough to let me get some ...

Having a hard time with meds, usually sleep some in early morning, but not enough, then feel drugged the rest of the day.
Ann: I'm trying to rotate -- taking Methadone every five nights, and the other nights I take 1/2 mg clonazepam and two codeine (30/300) and if it's 1:30 a.m. and I'm sttill awake ...

Re: Suboxone - Living on the Edge

I hate seeing so many of our folks trying Suboxone. As far as I'm concerned, it's just another dangerous drug docs are throwing at us. I took Methadone because a doc said I was "at the end of the line." Fine for a while until I would fall alseep at the wheel or while talking to people. I searched ...

Re: Suboxone - Living on the Edge

My whole story about Suboxone is on the board somewhere. Please be so careful with it.
Almost impossible to stop it. When I finally did, after titrating it so slowly, I walked for nine days and nights. The doc said it was a "sticky" drug, that no other drug (like oxy, etc.) would help and you just ...

Re: sativa vs. indica

Then I took pure sativa a few nights ago -- up all night. Nuts. I so enjoy weed, love the way it feels at first (happy, happy), but then it gets into my legs and I can't sleep. I just gave the rest of it to my trainer at the gym.

Re: sativa vs. indica

What do you think about Sativa for WEDs, even though there's no pain? I have been experimenting off and on for years. Most of the time, I didn't know what I was using -- but now it's legal in Colorado. I tried just Indica and stayed up all night. Now I have a gram of sativa and a humidifier and ...

Re: Lonliness

I'm trying so hard not to be depressed. I look outside my condo and see the guy with MD who lives down the hall. I think about a close friend dying of lung cancer. Since I'm older, that strategy could go on and on, and it doesn't work. I just lost 10 pounds. I'm healthy.....I even went dancing ...

It was for WED. He keeps looking around for remedies, but like everyone else, doesn't know where to look. I have high hopes for the wonderful team at Johns Hopkins.

Re: Nortriptyline?

Thanks so much. I won't take it again. Also, I'll let him know.....he does have other WED patients, but none as old or bad as I am. I try to keep him up on stuff -- and he knows that I consider this discussion board the ultimate authority!!!

Nortriptyline?

Saw my neurologist yesterday; we were tweaking what I'm doing.
He suggested the above drug (it rings a distant bell)....said it was a low dose, would take a couple of weeks to work. But I stayed up until 3 a.m. I was also upset about something, so I don't know the cause. But I'd rather not stay up ...

Re: John Hopkins Glutamate Study

I guess I really didn't understand how that worked. So they're just going through the drugs again? Haven't we already all done that? (sorry...feeling a bit sour.)
I tried Neurontin and it seemed to make me dizzy, so I quit.
Are they talking at all about the Glutamate study?
Thank you again for ...

Re: Affect of diet?

I finally got some sleep last night. I had just been a zombie for days - and I do think we're dangerous when we go out having little sleep. I talked to the diet people yesterday and we agreed I should just stop all the supplements. Whether that's what made the difference, I don't know.
I know it's ...
