I go to Dr. Silber at Mayo Clinic in Rochester. (He is one of the authors of the RLS treatment algorithm.) I live in Illinois (not near Chicago) so it takes 2 flights to get there. It is well worth my time and money to see him. I knew I had WED and PLMD, but my local neurologist said he'd never deal...

I'm glad you called Dr. Silber. That is a long time to feel so miserable. I hope the changes and therapy will help you feel better.

I'm one of the people that posted here about how horrible it was to get off Clonazepam. I was on it for a few months several years ago while I was waiting to get into Mayo Clinic. (My local neurologist had realized my problems were beyond his capabilities and referred me but I had to wait 2-3 months...

The Amazon deal was $50 off the lower priced Zeo package ($199 instead of $249), so it was a great deal. I've kept an eye on the Zeo's prices since I purchased mine. They frequently run a deal on their website where you can get 1 year of the guided sleep coaching for free with the $249 Zeo. That's a...

I've also read many times that you shouldn't take iron on your own without being tested first. It is supposedly a very dangerous substance if you don't need extra iron.

Good luck with the Zeo Beth. By the way, I order stuff from Amazon many times a week and they have an excellent return policy. You should be able to return it within 30 days if you don't love it. Just keep all the packaging, etc. Please post back to let us know how you like the Zeo. You got a great ...

OK, I just read a bit about Xyrem and it's not for myultra-sensitive body. It's got GHB in it which is the date rape drug. I'm sure it will be helpful to some people and that's why they are letting it be sold as an orphan drug, but I remember what 100 mg of Neurontin did to me. It was as if I had be...

Interesting, D4. It sounds a lot like narcolepsy, with the nonrestorative sleep. About 30 percent of people who are diagnosed with narcolepsy don't have cataplexy. I don't have a lot of sleep paralysis, thankfully or hallucinations. When I close my eyes, though, it's a whole different story. It's l...

Interesting. I don't have any problem with the Zeo's sensors. It reads my sleep every night. Even though the SleepTracker doesn't give as much data as the Zeo, I still like it and use it every night. I try to predict my average time between almost awake states BEFORE I look at the watch. I can make ...

Zeo Personal Sleep Coach - if you like data about your sleep

I've posted here before about how much I love the Sleeptracker watch. I bought the Zeo Personal Sleep Coach right before Christmas and I love it. I've been intending to post about it, but hadn't taken the time to do it yet. I saw it is Amazon.com's deal of the day today so I thought I'd write a post...

...D4 what is your disorder? (If you don't mind telling) I have become interested in sleep disorders and the devastation of sleep deprivation lately (for some reason ) and I'm curious about yours... My disorder is that my brain doesn't process sleep correctly. I can sleep 14-18 hours and never get ...

You know what's really amazing is that I brought my husband with a couple times to the local sleep clinic. I have literally been going from doctor to doctor for 30 years trying to find out why I'm so tired all the time. And they just didn't listen! I I've had cataplexy for over 15 years, and they j...

Sometimes I think the most difficult thing to convey to a doctor is the extent to which we are suffering. ... I really related to this statement. I brought my husband to my 3rd appointment with my neurologist. (He had never gone with me to any kind of doctor appt before.) At the time, I was sleepin...

We have corresponded on here before since we both go to Dr. Silber at Mayo. I highly recommend you calling his office to explain your concerns. I had to do that with every med change Dr. Silber made. I was only on every medicine 1 or 2 days because the side affects were so horrible. He and his nurse...
