only 90 day use of opoids
I saw this notice on the RLS/WED email newsletter, that a group of pain specialist are trying to get FDA to limit opoid use for non-cancer to 90 days. Has there been a discussion on this? Does anyone know any more about i? The idea puts me into a total panic as hydrocodone is the only option I've go...

Re: Augmentation
Hi, I'm late to this thread, but will weigh in anyway. I augmented on Requip in 6 months, then on Mirapex almost immediately, so much for the DAs. I'd had hip replacement surgery right before and realized I slept like a baby while on the hydrocodone. I finally talked my dr into letting me stay on it...

Re: Horizant
I've been looking for someone who has taken Horizant. I couldn't take Gabapentin or Lyrica due to excruciating headaches. After a month I finally gave up and we started decreasing the dose. I was down to a child's dose when the headaches finally stopped, but it wasn't effective then either. I'm hopi...

Re: Anyone else tried vicodin?
I've been on vicodin since 07. I was on requip for a year and then augmented. Only when I stopped it did I realize it was causing random pain all over my body. Then I tried mirapex and was on the ceiling. I realized that vicodin worked after hip replacement surgery and begged my Dr to allow my to co...

Diuretics and RLS
I've been looking today for any interaction. I was started on Hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ) for blood pressure and ended up with hypersensitive vasculitis. Now I'm on furosemide (Lasix) and I've started having hives. Both are in the sulfonamide family, and people are often allergic to sulfa drugs. But ...

Cymbalta and RLS
I've been on Cymbalta (lowest dose) for Shingles Postherpetic neuralgia for a year while using hydrocodone to control my RLS. I haven't seen any problem at all with the Cymbalta. It controls my nerve pain very effectively with no other side effects.

Iron supplement - Repliva
Repliva 21/7. It's by prescription and set up like a birth control package. Has 28 pills, 21 are iron, 7 placebo, so you are taking a pill everyday and don't screw up your daily habit by having to stop for a week. I think it took 6 months to get my iron from 25 to 80 last time. PC didn't want to go ...

Dr.B's minimum iron levels
I just came through major back surgery and lost about 2 pts of blood, they were able to put 1 back with a cell saver, although I lost more through the week in the hospital with the wound drainer. My surgeon told me my iron levels hit 24 which he was actually pleased with for the amount of blood loss...

Tramadol and taste
Has anyone ever had long term aftertaste from Tramadol? I've been using it since February for back pain during the day with hydrocodone at night, which helps both the rls and OA pain. I'm taking 3 doses of 100 mg, although the pain management doctor said I could take up to 400 mg in a day. The last ...

RESTLESS JAWS?
Thanks for the response guys, I learned something new. I'll tell my friend it is possible, she's not crazy and apparently neither is her doctor.

RESTLESS JAWS?
I have a friend whose doctor told her she has the equivalent of rls in her jaw. She has tmj and does a lot of clenching and grinding, it's an uncontrollable feeling. The doctor put her on Klonopin. I've heard of RLS "traveling" up the body and in the arms but never in the jaw and face. But...

Jon Stewart
I don't know if he was spoofing or not, but he usually has a gentle but funny way of bringing out a problem. I think what he was focusing on is the Requip and Mirapex commercials that tout as the cure to RLS, yet have all these horredous side effects. I'm sure the general public was thinking why wou...

augmentation and DA's
Hi Psychick, I can sympathize with you, I had nearly an identical situation with the same side effects. I hope the new doctor works for you. My PC had such good luck with Requip in other patients, he didn't believe that I could possibly be augmenting. It took 4 months to convince him. It's great tha...
