I agree totally with all the negatives of using Klonipin - which is why I only use it when absolutely necessary - maybe twice a week. I try everything I know before using it - walking - stretching, etc. I'm hoping to hear something back from the neuro soon. He told me to call with the results of inc...

Count me in too!!! My RLS started in my legs only and only occasionally when I was in my early to mid 30's. By the time I was 40 I was jerking all over the place!! I too have a desk job and have found that the longer I sit, the more symptoms and the more severe they are. I get up and walk around qui...

I currently take .75 Mirapex at night and .5 Klonopin (only on really bad nights). Nothing takes it completely away - just makes it bearable. If I can get to sleep, I'm usually okay. That is, unless I'm thrashing around in my sleep and my husband wakes me up - then I get up and walk and then either ...

I take the Clonazepam on really bad nights. First I take .75 Mirapex and if that doesn't work or if I wake up in the middle of the night and can't get back to sleep is when I take the Clonazepam. It does make you loopy, but at least you can sleep.

Hi everyone - it's been a while since I've posted and I've been reviewing everything I missed. My doctor has suggested support hose - haven't tried it yet, but after reading all your posts, I just might try it. I also find it helpful to wedge my foot and/or lower leg between cushions or anything to ...

RLS Arm Relief

Hi All - I've been experiencing RLS in my arms lately too. I've found that if I lay on the side that's bothering me and criss-cross my arms across my chest and grap each upper arm with the opposite hand it seems to help. When both arms have bothered me, I've even layed on my stomach with my arms in ...

"Sewing Machine Legs" or bouncing legs while sitti

Hi, my name is Connie and, yes, I bounce my legs constantly. I've done this since childhood. My mother used to grab my knees under the dinner table to make me stop!! I still do it to this day (I'm 43 years old) and still get "corrected" for doing it. But, of course, I can't help it!! I have RLS and ...

RLS and "Stuck Record Syndrome"

Hey PeteBj - I can totally relate, but what really caught my attention was your itching arms. My upper arms itch terribly in the evenings and during the night. I never associated it with the RLS. Have you been told that there is some connection? Just wondering. Thanks.

Desk Job and RLS

I also have a desk job and find it very helpful to just get up and walk around every 30 minutes or so. The mornings are not too bad, but by mid afternoon my legs are jumping all over the underneath side of my desk!!! I also like to walk at lunch time when the weather permits. I'm going to go check t...

Spouse's and others who don't "get" RLS

Sara, Thanks for the welcome!! Thank you everyone for the welcome!! I truly feel like I've found a home where people understand and "feel" what I'm feeling!! My husband has also been very good about this whole RLS thing. RLS isn't my only medical issue - I have hemochromotisis, hyperparathyroid dise...

New to RLS Medication?

Thanks for the info Kelbel. I've been taking Mirapex for about 5 months. 0.50 mg every evening. The problem is my RLS isn't just an evening and night time thing. If I sit too long during the day or on the weekends if I take a nap during the day, it kicks in. I'm just wondering if I need to take it i...

Spouse's and others who don't "get" RLS

Thanks Jan!! I've read a lot of your posts and others and have learned a lot already! My biggest conern at this point in my life is that I'm so tired all the time and I'm only 43 years old. At times, it takes all the energy I can muster up just to get a shower and drive to work, much less stay there...
