Interesting

Very interesting. A few months ago, following a blood test, my Dr. put me on high dose Vitamin B. Over the space of two months I did not notice any improvement in the RLS. The above article now makes sense. It's a matter of balance. Even if there is sufficient iron in the body, if it's not getting t...

Massage

What my wife and I found was that when she massaged my legs, I was able to get off to sleep (and stay asleep) and the RLS would not be so bad. So, in a way it's a solution that worked for us, but, it meant that my wife did the massage and I fell straight to sleep. This made me feel selfish and event...

Antidepressants

I too was prescribed antidepressants and suffered increased RLS, so, I came off the antidepressants because (ironically!!!) they were making me more depsressed than if I did not have them. AustinBabyBlue says that she cannot be without antidepressants which prompted me to wonder if instead of taking...

Stuck Record

Hi all - and thanks for your kind replies. Just knowing that I'm not alone in that trap is comforting, and I hope that it helps you realise that whilst RLS isn't normal, the feelings which accompany it are. Connie - it's rare that I get itchy arms, and when it does happen, it's without rhyme nor rea...

Essential Tremor

I searched all the Forums for "Essential Tremor" and only found one very very long thread which had those two words. I was wondering if anybody else suffers from this condition. For those who do not recognise the condition, here is a brief description, following which you may identify that you have ...

RLS and 'Stuck Record Syndrome'

Last night was typical, whilst fighting off the ravages of RLS I was trying to get to sleep (which one has the upper hand? tiredness or RLS?) and got into a situation which I can now describe. Tiredness can become so strong that it is on the verge of sending you off despite the RLS keeping you awake...

Swiss things......

Salut Heron!!!!! As they'd say in the French part of Switzerland. I was born in Davos, Graubunden/Grisons on the west (German speaking) side of Switzerland. My mother is from Basle/Bale. I spent 10 years between Bale and Davos. I met and married a girl from Sion - just 'down the road' from Neuchatel...

Altitude problems

I was born in the mountains (Switzerland) and go there every year. The last few years (2004 I didn't go) have been interesting. I'm not coping as well as I used to. The altitude is 5,200 to 10,000 feet. From what I understand, these are the major influencing factors. Oxygen. As you go further up, pa...

About Seroquel

Getting back to Seroquel, as I take this medication, perhaps I can offer some first hand knowledge. Seroquel, as rightly stated above, is an antipsychotic. That being to treat psychotic conditions such as schizophrenia, but also, it is used to treat bipolar disorders - ie. swings between highs and l...

Thank you, all, for your considerate, helpful and kind replies. I hovered a long time over the 'Submit' key before sending my post. I feel now that I needn't have hovered so long. To answer a few points raised; I read a while ago about caffeine (in it's various forms) being a trigger and/or causativ...

A night to forget.

Hi, I'm new to this forum. Although I've been a member a short while, I thought I would read the postings first before adding my own. I've been 'living' with RLS on and off for about 10 years - before that it was so seldom that I don't count it. Now, however - it's with me every night. And day. The ...
