Re: central sensitivity

VA, I know you are an internet super sleuth. The only Q&A type link I have found is this: m I have not been diagnosed, and the syndrome was mentioned to me by a top notch physical therapist who has been working with me due to post surgical issues and pain. Mmmmmm! After what reading I have done ...

central sensitivity

Wondering if anyone here has this diagnosis--related or unrelated to their RLS. Or, if anyone here has personal knowledge about the condition.

super bowl LII

Anyone watching the game tomorrow--or rather today? Rooting for the Eagles myself. Heard on the news today that the temp in Minny tomorrow will be a balmy 6 degrees. Coldest ever for a super bowl. Good thing they are playing inside.

3 billboards outside ebbing missouri

Saw this movie several days ago....thought it was a good story and appreciated that it got to "the point" in about 30 seconds. Didn't like the ending at all.

Re: Whacha readin?

Have "All the Light..." on my Hold list at the e-library. Don't know when it will become available but I appreciate the heads up about it being a good read. Some days melancholy is not necessarily a bad feeling. Wishing all who visit here some peace this night. Finally got my turn to down...

Re: Renewing Membership

I have learned a lot more about the Foundation just from reading this thread. I agree that this discussion board is worth the donation. A really, really, really, really, really big Foundation plus for me is that I periodically take things to my doctor i.e. articles from the Nightwalkers and she will...

Re: Neupro or gabapentin encarbil?

Beth, I was on sinimet in the mid 1990's. My current neuro put me on .125mg pramipexole in mid-August of this year. Initially it stopped the RLS completely. At about 22 days the RLS started waking me rlat 4-5am and then the pramipexole stopped working at all. He increased the dose to .375mg on 9/14...

Re: RLS, Depression and Anti-depressants

Experienced very terrifying, vivid, unbelievably violent, and lifelike "nightmares" using Ambien. Difficult to separate them from reality when awake and to dismiss then. Led to what could be described as a "nervous breakdown" of sorts. I wound up at the University of Michigan anx...

Re: Whacha readin?

About half-way through The Light Between the Oceans. Somewhat of a leap from the genre I usually gravitate to but so far I am enjoying it. While I did not get to see the movie (based on the book) this Fall, I am looking forward to seeing it when it appears on TV in a year or two. Wishing all who vis...

Re: RLS, Depression and Anti-depressants

I dont have a target dose but I talked to the pharmacist and he said there are 100s of mg to go up to. The increase to 100mg has been easier than the increase to 75mg was. The dizziness has pretty much resolved and the move to 100mg didnt seem to worsen it. Im still missing that "window" ...

Re: RLS, Depression and Anti-depressants

Sojourner, my neurologist put me on trazadone at the beginning of this month for RLS related insomnia. Maybe my experience will help you with it. I've gone from 25mg to 50mg to 75mg at night since I first started it. I also take .25 ropinirole after dinner and .25mg clonazepam (tapering off) immedi...

Re: Worse on GABA? Or crazy?

leggo, Sorry for the difficulties you are having. Even this short thread illustrates how difficult it is to treat this disease and how varied our individual responses are to medications--getting on them, getting off them, whether they work or not etc. And still, we are often the laughing stock of th...

Re: RLS, Depression and Anti-depressants

Some of us regard the insomnia as an integral part of the disease. A number of researchers care of the same opinion, mentioning how the hyper-alertness that we have, which enables us to keep swalking and talking almost as if we;re normal after 31 nights in a row with 2 hr sleep each. Not that that ...
