Re: Travel

The Foundation also used to make a Special Accommodations card, which I am asking if they can distribute again. It said the holder of the card while in flight or during periods of inactivity would be aided in obtaining symptom relief by being allowed to walk about, remain standing, have an aisle se...

Congratulations on making such a difficult journey to get to the Rossmoor meeting, it is a measure of your determination and your issues. It was such a bonus that you got to speak with Dr B, he has been such a saviour to most of us at some time or another not only through his imparted information an...

Re: New to Forum Need advice about Ropinirole

So you are saying that you do not have to get out of bed and walk?

Re: New to Forum Need advice about Ropinirole

dsrouillard - you say that while in bed or just sitting you have to move your legs because they are uncomfortable.

But, do you have to actually get up and walk about?
And if you do so does this eventually relieve your symptoms?

Re: New Member

Doug, even your initial starting dose of .5mg was too high as a starter dose. Over the last 6 months I have reduced my ropinerole from 5 mg daily down to 1.5mg daily. The reduction was by .5mg every few weeks. More recently it has been by .25mg every few weeks. The reduction had been supported by Co...

Re: Travel

On my last 11hour flight I pretty much doubled up on medications. Made sure I had a dose 90 minutes before take off and sit at the back of the plane beside the toilets. These are considered the worst seats. Not for me. I can get up and walk circles in the little space between the toilets and the gal...

Re: augmentation with lyrica?

I have found Lyrica to be useful when used in combination with another medication, don't think it works so well as monotherapy. I'd think that the Lyrica is just not sufficient on its own to control your symptoms even though you feel it worked for the first 6 days. Are you taking the 300mg as one do...

Re: Weight Loss

Deb, if your legs are swollen could some of the weight be fluid? When I started on a medication for blood pressure my feet and lower legs got swollen. Happily my doctor changed to another (more expensive) medication and the swelling has almost disappeared. Not noticable to see but I can feel it. It ...

Re: Very Tired

I had put on weight gradually with ropinerole, it was as if the compulsion to eat was impossible to ignore.

Then six months ago I started on Lyrica. Cue another 10 lbs. I'm trying very hard to do something about it. Dr wants to increase the lyrica but I'm saying no at present.

Re: Attempting to get off Ropinirole - again

I can't believe it, done it again. I typed a very long and detailed post to find that I was timed out and lost it all !! I won't let that happen again, it'll be a Word Document and then copy and paste. So here goes, again... As it's been two months since my last post on the Ropinerole reduct...

Re: QUALITY CENTERS: HOW DOES IT WORK

I am in the UK and have no personal experience of the Quality Centres. I hope someone comes along soon who does have experience and can answer your questions. In the meantime, please know that at Quality Care Centres you will without doubt see RLS Experts who are at the top of their field. Regarding...

Re: Very Tired

Deb - don't forget that as well as the loss of your son-in-law and the death of your dog, you also have the awfulness of watching your daughter suffer. You are living at a distance away from her and are likely feeling the frustration of helplessness. As Ann says, it would be no wonder if you are dep...
