Re: Must I have a sleep study done?
I'm sorry that your appointment with Dr Rye and your attempted follow up communication was so disappointing. I do understand why you have for the moment cancelled your zoom appointment with Dr Walters. It can often be difficult to talk adequately about how awful your rls symptoms are when you are ac...

Re: How many hours do you sleep?
I was getting 2 - 4 hours of fragmented sleep and eventually after many years had a sleep test. This showed moderate sleep apnea and I was provided with a cpap machine. The result from the first night was wonderful. I now on average manage between 6 to 8 hours in 2 (occasionally 3) shifts and what I...

Re: Stressless Chairs
Yankiwi, I also keep a journal similar to yours but handwritten in a book. I include any deviations to 'usual' medication such as Kratom or an extra pill. debbluebird, I also very often have my legs up, left leg underneath me and right leg stretched out in front. This is nothing to do with rls, it's...

Re: Experience of having IV iron
I have not used IV iron but several of our members have done so with success for their rls symptoms. There is a criteria to qualify for IV iron involving blood/ferritin levels. My understanding is that you need to be referred by your GP to a haematologist. It does not work for everyone but several o...

Re: Stressless Chairs
Yankiwi - I am in the same position in that even if my legs don't hurt when I wake up I need to get up, usually for a couple of hours. This is not occasional, it is every night. As you say very frustrating and I do try to accept that this is just how it is. Fortunately being retired I can sleep for ...

Re: Chiropractor
I also have never been to a chiropractor. It's not something I think of as being a treatment for rls although a quick search does show that many chiropractor's say that they can help treat the condition ..... this is general theme and an extract from on article I read... "" a commonly overlooked cau...

Re: Horizant
I took ropinerole for about 15 years very quickly reaching 4mg daily which at That time was considered acceptable. Eventually I was on 5mg daily and obviously to me was augmenting. I was fearful of the effects of coming off the ropinerole and was taking codeine to try offset the augmentation. Member...

Re: Horizant
Your dose of ropinerole is pretty high at 2mg. Most rls experts through their experience would now say that the max daily dosage of ropinerole should be 1mg. I do understand that it is so tempting when the 2mg dose lets you sleep through the night but really it would be best to be reducing it. Views...

Re: new member - transitioning from ropinirole to gabapentin
Please do be careful of your ropinerole dose. The max is considered to be 1 mg daily. You recently went from 1mg to 1.25mg and are now at 1.5mg you are at 50% over max - and still suffering RLS symptoms. I think you need to reconsider whether you should be taking ropinerole. Bearing in mind that you...
