Re: Specialist to see?

Welcome to the Discussion Board. Who you would see is sometimes dictated by where you live and what specialists are near you. Or how far you are prepared to travel. For example, I work with my GP who is willing to look at and consider information found on the RLS Foundation Home Page. If you are for...

Re: Social Security - US

Views - sorry that you got these results (tho good about the ferritin) leading to more tests and investigations.
I am always hopeful that an unusual result is a blip...... and will be ok next test, or following a let's wait and moitor period.
However, yes, something is going on.

Re: Massager

Welcome to the Discussion Bard. I haven't used any type of massager and cannot speak of personal experience. The nearest I have been is to thump the daylights out of my legs and arms using my fists, or indeed a long and heavy shoehorn. Other members will have tried various methods and indeed one mem...

Re: Social Security - US

Ann, Pretty sad to think that that you are having to think of this. Just shows what devastation RLS can cause.I'd be with the others, start an application now with an experienced lawyer.

Re: RLS Patient Symposium

Beth, thanks for this. I will come back on it to read it properly. Already, with just a glance at Earley's opioids I have learned.... The terms high and low potency opioids refer to the effectiveness of an opioid in dealing with pain, and are absolutely irrelevant to how they deal with WED sensations

Re: For Anyone Who Thinks RLS is a Joke

Ahh... but we are told that we need sleep to aid recovery for our organs etc. that without sleep we are more prone to x, y and z. However, I must agree with you regarding the keeping on going..... I am always at something. My husband cannot understand how I can be doing chores when I've had no sleep...

Re: Sleeping Arrangements

The difficulty of sharing a bed is so unfair when the symptoms of RLS come into the equation. I am the sufferer in our relationship. Fortunately my husband is usually able to sleep through my symptoms because as soon as they start I get up out of bed and take myself downstairs and find something to ...

Re: For Anyone Who Thinks RLS is a Joke

EeFall, I also would walk constantly and forever without medication. RLS was with me 24/7 for several years in both arms and legs before I was ever prescribed medications. My husband certainly knew what he was getting as I was unmedicated when I met him. Upon starting the ropinerole it never ever re...

Re: For Anyone Who Thinks RLS is a Joke

EeFall..... I have to say it, it does sound to me like you should be talking to your doctor about your mood and your quality of life. Which no doubt you've done several times. Honestly, I know how bad it is when not sleeping properly. Currently I'm functioning on about 3 hours fragmented sleep. That...

Lavender is supposed to be conducive to sleep but doesn't have what it takes for me.

Steve, our meds are so precious to us. They are what lets us retain some notion of sanity.

The last time I acquired a stash was under similar circumstances. Long may there be occasional circumstances.

Re: RLS Patient Symposium

Quote from Views ""I have often said that if only the researchers would read the posts here, they'd get a whole 'nother perspective. I also think they'd be surprised by what lengths we go to - hoarding medications, trying crazy things, and potentially doing things that could cause harm, al...

It is very interesting to see your No. 5.
And to note that perhaps the experts, to whom we are so grateful, have perhaps been given some food for thought.

Re: Canceled flight and feeling overhelmed

hama90 - if it helps, here are questions to help determine RLS. 1. Do you experience the urge to move? 2. Is the need to move overwhelming to the point that you cannot resist moving your legs? 3. Will the urge to move increase if you are in a confined position? 4. Do you have symptoms both sitting a...
